Getting married without getting to know your partner (i.e. living together) is as reckless as Russian roulette. How can you establish any sense of compatibility (sexual or otherwise) without deepening your intimacy and sharing a variety of experiences? Zero carnal knowledge is a recipe for disaster....... and is unsurprisingly reflected in catastrophic divorces statistics.
@masterq2.0337 күн бұрын
Sounds reasonable, but the evidence disagrees. People who live together before getting married have a higher divorce rate than those who don't.

@@masterq2.033 evidence from where? Statisticians from Uranus?
@michalquirk6362 күн бұрын
@@masterq2.033 ...hard to believe... and it must vary from country to country depending on the strictness and taboos of each. It seems logical that those who attach the most (traditional) importance to marriage will also be those inflicting the strictest taboos on divorce, which totally masks any idea about what proportion of marriages are 'successful'. So impossible to ascertain how many partners in traditional marriages would divorce if they could...... meanwhile an amicable divorce in the West seems far more 'successful' than being stuck permanently in a miserable traditional marriage, which begs the question of divorce being a negative thing
@michalquirk6362 күн бұрын
@@masterq2.033 .... but perhaps you're only referring to 'the West'... in which case I'd like to see some accurate statistics.... but it all begs the question of exactly how important/sacred the idea of marriage is for the participants. If a society allows couples to live together it's probably one which doesn't consider marriage as a sacred value, hence the easy acceptance of divorce, which would explain your point.....also the level of education of those concerned is an important factor too

Thank you for your honesty- I totally respect the Confucian view on remaining chaste until marriage- this has always been my view concerning relationships with a female- sex should be reserved for marriage so that the couple has a special bond that only the two will share. But only marry if the two are committed to only one and other and have come to love each other above all others. Bless you and your family Kaheva!

Very interesting, your explanation of Confucian culture. Confucian ethos is “practiced “extremely differently in the United States. The liberal left often picks and chooses from Confucius teachings to do things you would apparently consider taboo. It certainly doesn’t resemble Protestant teachings whatsoever here. It seems like it is similar to western practices of buhdist teachings. Very different than those of Asian countries. I have more respect for Confucian teachings after listening to your explanations. I look forward to further clarifications. One thing that is universal, alcohol destroys happiness and social stability wherever it is consumed. 💚🙏

Thanks for educating me on the World from a South Korean perspective. Look forward to 2025 and learning more from you. God Bless. I have no problem with MEN being responsible and treating woman with respect. USA we have men who impregnant woman, some times several, and don't take care of the children, often in Black community, not always (Hunter Biden). These fatherless kids often do not do well in life and they are a burden on society. On the other hand WOMAN are responsible for not sleeping around. Woman get pregnant hoping to entrap the man. That may work with a millinare basketball player, not some broke guy who is in and out of jail. It is sad. I feel for the Kids first. The woman have some responsibility but being a single mom is tough.

But if you wish to leave me then do it soon otherwise the matter of love in your heart will completely merge with the matter of love in my heart to become the matter of an eternal love in our souls. #1. Be hot looking. #2. Or be rich. #3. Or be both. Women no matter where, they are no different EVEN with culture, religion etc. Majority are shallow as they come. The prettier, the more delusional they are and self entitled they become. If you're not any of these, it doesn't matter wherer you are in world, it's going to be an uphill struggle. Women, majority are shallow and worry about how it looks like to other people. If they didn't they'd already be married, found their man.

I am glad that women are protected in SK because of confusion culture. In India they put the blame on the woman .its also a confusion culture there but women are not protected.

So the one who cheats loses most of the property... Interesting. Seems fair, although here in the West, men often get the women to sign a "prenup" (prenuptial agreement) to avoid having to relinquish wealth in the invent of a divorce. Since I've always been 100% loyal to my partners, I think I'd be okay with a Korean marriage, if things go well for me in Busan.
