I've been reading the Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy by Laini Taylor and I can't stop thinking about it. I guess this is from the POV of someone who brings Brimstone teeth but feels guilty about it. I'd take a collection of short stories about the tooth-hunters tbh.
Lyrics:
I know it's sad,
Sitting here feeling bad for myself oh no,
my pity party went all wrong,
brave face never was strong enough
to suit
the people, the places, the faces I came to expect,
my regrets are tangled around my neck,
a snake-collar I can't get off
Pulling out so many teeth,
mouth bloody, hands shaking
back is cracking,
my own memories artefacting,
turning over,
getting older,
but some things stay the same
and I saw what I saw,
handprints burned on the doors,
make me feel its time,
I can't regret or rewind, again,
Nothing grows from loss,
only black weeds and pick-me-nots
