Gabriel is good though. I'd say moreso the lack of signing proper midfield backup and strikers is what will cost Arteta his job. I don't mind the Calafiori signing as he's still young and the potential is there, but Merino and Striling have been out of form and, arguably, terribly mismanaged at Arsenal. They should try and lure Mou in to start a re-tooling and try to keep Saka, Odegaard and Gabriel. Everyone else should be allowed to be up for sale, especially Saliba if Los Blancos want to overpay for him.

The reason many now prefer Isak over Haaland is precisely because he is proper baller. He will never produce Haaland's numbers simply because he doesn't have that single-minded focus on getting served in the box. Instead he participates in the buildup, often leading it, which means that players next to him, like Gordon, score a lot of goals too. Meaning the goals are distributed across several players instead of padding a single striker's stats. Now that Man City are struggling you can see why you would want someone who can create on his own. Without service Haaland isn't all that dangerous.
