You know it's ironic that Kai's family calls Kai a psychopath, and he is, but the way his family treated him is like one out of the many factors that helped him become a psychopath in the first place. Second, compare and contrast Kai with his family members. Notice that Kai and his family, including the father, act so much alike in certain situations. It's unreal and uncanny. You know bad genes would have to run throughout the Parker family. I guarantee you that the Parker family must have received a lot of bad genes in their DNA. Kai had to receive the worst out of all his family members.

Plus we dont know what their parents went through, imagine being the leader of the coven where your life is the literally the lifeline of every other members of the coven... That must be some next level pressure, that position isnt a place to be egoistic, like he said, coven comes first before family for the sanctity of literally EVERYGEMINI WARLOCKS/WITCHES are in his hands. Plus kai's siphon abilities hurts his other siblings (u know josie/lozzie even hurts caroline) so i understand why they somehow have to put some space between him and his siblings for that during his young age.

Being as nice and understanding and empathetic as she was, she should’ve been able to forgive Kai like Elena forgave Damon. So I agree with you. She too deserved better, she never could get her happy ending on the show as well. But yeah Kai was the best creative thing that happened to that show. Chris Wood (Malakai) made it far more interesting to watch for sure. They shouldn’t have erased him. he should’ve gotten his redemption after he gained his brother’s emotions.

Kai was always the misunderstood kid, nobody loved him growing up and his father called him a abomination. After the merge with Luke he changed in a way. Almost like he wasnt that sociopath in the beginning. He just needed someone to live for, love, and care for. Bonnie liked him because she knew where he was coming from. Bonnies mom left her for Bonnies grandma to take care of her because she didnt want her. But her subborness got in the way of her feelings and covered what she felt with hate towards Kai. Bonnie had people who loved her. Kai was called a monster. So he showed them one.

FRIENDLY REMINDER TO EVERYONE THAT KEEPS BLAMING THE ENTIRE FAMILY FOR KAI'S ACTIONS: Kai WASN'T HATED by everyone in his family. When he went on his first killing spree, most of his siblings were still innocent children. Luke and Liv were toddlers that Jo was protecting and no, Jo didn't just treat him badly either. If you go back you'll see how they say Kai started acting out because his PARENTS treated him like an abomination for being a witch siphon (makes sense, finding out you're different in a bad way from everybody else no doubt either makes you sad or mad or both), and he got progressively worse (is still justified, you're bound to be angry and act out if your parents suck- look at Damon and Klaus for example), and then his parents realized that he was becoming more and more psychotic/evil/whatever you wanna call it (I mean duh, they were handling him like an outcast... Klaus can relate to this I'M SO MAD THEY DIDN'T HAVE KLAUS AND KAI INTERACT) and that because Kai was a siphon there was no way Jo would beat him at the merge... or at least they thought so. Kai's only power is literally to absorb magic- he would presumably take all of Jo's when they were 22 which of course the coven can't let happen now that he's a 21 year old angry, resentful dude with a vendetta because angry dude plus tons of magic probably = total chaos. Now this part is DEFINITELY their parents' fault. They made Kai feel like an outcast as a kid so him growing up to be resentful is a reaction to them sucking. But KAI LITERALLY SAID HIMSELF that his siblings were nice to him... and yet he killed/attacked/tortured them anyways. So no, the way his parents treated him doesn't excuse his actions- as in, his parents being a-holes doesn't correlate at all with him being able to murder 4 of his innocent siblings in cold blood when he even said they never did anything bad to him. The twins were nearly babies. That's just pure evil. What would've made his redeem-ability believable was if he started showing guilt and empathy BEFORE merging with Luke, because as far as I'm concerned, in the end, all of Kai's most redeemable traits were result of being merged with Luke and getting his humanity. I almost wish that instead of trying to kill Luke and Liv, that when he got out of the prison world something made Kai see reason. Like maybe seeing how Luke and Liv were on the run from their father and the Gemini coven too could've made Kai realize who the true bad guy in his life was, and he could've felt empathy and sympathy then, and as a result he could've felt guilt for what he put the innocent part of his family through. Then, he could've teamed up with the twins and Jo to take down their father, because GOSH the father was an a-hole, and they could've tried to put an end to the Gemini coven tradition (BECAUSE HERE'S ANOTHER REMIDNER: THE GEMINI COVEN DID NOT HAAAVE TO HAVE THE TRADITION OF MAKING THE HEAD OF THE COVEN 1/2 OF A SET OF TWINS THAT MERGED WITH THE OTHER... THEY DID THAT FOR POWER BECAUSE IT GAVE TWICE AS MUCH MAGIC TO ONE WITCH WHICH IS GREAT AND ALL EXCEPT IT MEANS THE OTHER TWIN MUST DIE. SO YEAH, THE COVEN HAD A SICK FREAKIN TRADITION ALL FOR THE SAKE OF POWER). If the writers let Kai go this route instead, he would've been just like the other villains in TVD and TO who are really bad one day and good the next because they "see the light". Plus, Kai was still a siphon and his siblings, if they learned to trust him again, could've easily shared their magic with him. Actually, imagine how SICK it would've been for Liv, Luke, Jo, and Kai to have a standoff with the Gemini coven? Like, instead of Kai being the ultimate bad guy in that season it ends up being the entire coven because they still want their twin sacrifice/merge and now Kai, Jo, Liv and Luke refuse to let it happen anymore so they team up. And at first its like how the hell are 3 kids and one adult which who stopped regularly practicing 18 years ago gonna take down an entire coven? But thennn they all channel their power into Kai so that he's like 3x as strong than the average witch and takes the coven down. But sadly that's not how the writer's let it go so :( Anyways, to end this hella long rant, Kai getting thrown into the prison world made sense. Now you can argue that they should've just killed him (that upsets the balance of the coven I think... because Kai dies in the end and it kills almost the entire coven) and some might argue that in their own way their parents still loved Kai so that's why they didn't kill him, but honestly that'd be a reach. The dad especially was a jerk... and I think everyone's forgetting- THE DAD CAME AFTER LIV AND LUKE TOO AND WAS GOING TO FORCE THEM TO MERGE KNOWING ONE OF HIS KIDS WAS GOING TO DIE FROM IT... AND HE ACTUALLY SUPPOSEDLY LOVED LUKE AND LIV BUT WAS CONVINCED LIV WOULD LOSE IN THE MERGE AND WAS PREPARED OT LOSE HER ANYWAY. HE DID THE SAME TO JO AND KAI AND HIM AND HIS WIFE PURPOSELY KEPT HAVING KIDS WHEN THEY REALIZED KAI WAS A BAD EGG SO THAT THEY COULD HAVE ANOTHER SET OF TWINS TO BASICALLY SACRIFICE ONE HALF OF. ALSO BRO THE DAD LITERALLY TRIED OT KILL JO. THAT WAS AN ACTUAL PLOT FOR AT LEAST ONE EPISODE. WHEN HE FOUND OUT KAI MIGHT LEARN HOW TO ESCAPE THE PRISON WORLD HE WAS LIKE BET WELL I GOTTA KILL JO SO THAT WHEN HE GETS OUT HE CAN;T MERGE WITH HER. HE DIDN'T EVEN OFFER TO TRAIN HER TO BE ABLE TO WIN THE MERGE OR ANYTHINGGG BRO HE WAS JUST DEADSET ON MURDERING JO AFTER 4/8 OF HIS KIDS WERE ALREADY KILLED FOR THIS SAME BULL. WHAT TYPE OF SICKO DOES THAT? So the BADDEST guy here is the dad and whoever started the messed up Gemini tradition. They were the cause, the enabler, and the antagonist to Kai and all his siblings the entire time. That does noooot erase the fact that Kai, with his own free will, was still evil. Sidenote, I really wish they made a show on the Gemini coven.

I have a theory. Since they are magically transferred to Caroline's womb and they were I think under the first trimester, somehow they sensed they need to protect themselves and triggered the siphoning? So Bonnie's Grams took Jo under her wing? Does that mean she was the one who taught her magic? Now I can't get the picture of a little Jo and Kai running and playing with a little Abby (they would be around the same age, as far as I'm aware) out of my head, the two girls levitating feathers together under Sheilas guidence. It would have been interesting if they explored the history between the Bennett-family and the Gemini-coven a bit more. There seems to be a long standing connection between the two, as Sheila helped lock up Kai and one of her ancestors had be there when Lily and the heretics were banished to their prison world (Bennett blood seems to be required to create prison worlds). It's such a waste we never got to see a one-on-one scene of Jo and Bonnie.

kai was misunderstood, all he wanted love from his family but he got called an abomination all sorts of names they called him a monster so all he did was prove them right he even asked for a second chance to change but Bonnie refused, so it’s kinda her fault he came back to jo’s wedding if you think about it

He only asked for a second chance because he had Luke merged with him finally adding a voice if reason to feel guilty about his actions.... but literally Kai himself said he was evil, not redeemable, and he was okay with being that way. He was misunderstood in the beginning and definitely treated wrong as a child, but it's no one's fault but his that all that blood was shed. He killed all those people by his own free will- he was going to kill his two KID siblings if Jo hadn't protected them with a spell. He felt like an abomination, and his anger and frustration makes sense, but that doesn't warrant killing people ever and Bonnie isn't to blame either. She literally saved Mystic Falls by trapping him in that prison world because even when he was apologizing to her he proved his inner evil was fighting with Luke's inner good.... he still Tried to kill Lizzie and snapped on Bonnie even while merged with Luke. Who knows how far he would've gone despite having Luke in his head? Actually, even with Luke in his head he went on the killing spree at Joe's wedding, linked Bonnie's life to Elena, and stabbed Joe in the stomach... knowing she was pregnant. You can't say that's Bonnie's fault. That's all Kai.

Sharon Lang they knew Kai would win the merge because he is a siphoner which means that he could just suck the magic out of his sister and basically win the merge I guess. And yes I think their family is the head of the coven🤷🏻‍♂️

While (the girl) has decided to become a pacifist. When you see the boy walking around ready to slaughter all of you. The rest of the coven is going to put pressure on you to find a solution.

Sharon Lang • In Legacies it’s mentioned that Caroline is looking for a solution so that the twins don’t have to merge when they turn 22. My guess is that one of them will either die before then or will become a vampire and therefore be a witch/vampire hybrid.

It was more of his father's doing than his siblings' though. Like Luke and Liv were only 4 when he went on the murder spree. Just babies. Plus the only reason they were born was to be leaders instead of Kai. They weren't born out of genuine love. He killed KIDS to punish his father for how he was treated and because he saw the younger twins as a threat. All the siblings are victims. Kai is too but he's also a murderer so you can sympathize with him without treating what he did as okay. So to only "stand by his side" is a big fuck you to all the INNOCENT CHILDREN he killed. His living siblings had have every right to hate/be scared of him. He nearly fucking killed them. The Gemini member I have the most hatred for is their father. He was trash.

Kai had a horrible upbringing, but he was prepared to and did kill CHILDREN out of hatred they had nothing to do with. Lizzie, Luke, their other siblings, and Jo (TWICE) were all his victims and the second time Jo was his victim, he knew she was pregnant. I like Kai for being an interesting character, and the actor is hot as hell, but he is still an evil character. He had reasons to be mean, to not trust people, to isolate himself, to hate his coven especially his father... but no one EVER has a reason to kill innocents especially when they're freakin children. His siblings didn't say he was an abomination, his parents and the coven elders did. He literally said himself "I'm not a good person. I own that. And if I'm going down I'm going out with a bang."

I wish Kai came back only because I feel like the plot was really good when he was part of the show- he was a really good antagonist and offered comedic relief sometimes. And I want him to get a spinoff or something because I feel like there's so much content they can offer when it comes to his background and his time in all the prison worlds... But yeah, lol, glad someone else gets it!
