Animenz’s attention to detail is what makes his arrangement stands out ,highlight some of my favorite parts of this arrangement : At 0:15 you use alternative fingering to connect the melody line so you can have clean pedaling while the melody is still connected, this can be seen everywhere in your arrangement, which really shows your attention to details, btw, astonishing 1-3 fingering in the right hand to reach an octave (cool, big hand hum?) . Also the right hand finger legato at 1:35 adding a different layer of sound texture to the staccato bass line and melody line At 0:44 and 0:55 that rhythm is addicting, you do a very good job conserving the hand clapping vibe from the original song At 1:25 the cute ornament you add in the left hand At 1:44 that repetitive G# is similar to your great days arrangement (F#) , which really gives great vibe and bringing the hype to another level. And how can we not mentioning that fancy hand crossing moment at 2:08 lol At 2:20 that additional base melody line has different rhythm to those at 1:46, that’s why I never get bored of listening to your arrangement, there is always variation. At 3:22 it's just like an orchestra or band playing at this moment, THAT JUMPING LEFT HAND MELODY LINE IS GENIUS, and the following 3:28 section , all the sound just melt so well into each other, that bass, that middle melody line woven by both hand , that top decoration line, but I can still distinguish each of them !!! How are you able to play it so cleanly !? The clean pedal cutoff at 3:41 is a nice touch Finally that right hand jump at 3:49 seems risky Lastly, little complain about the arrangement, the octave in the chorus is a bit too much for me, wish there is more variation in the chorus, it seems that for popular songs in general , the most interesting part of the song is always be the verse ,it’s hard to make people feel ”WOW” in the chorus part, but of course there are exceptions , for instance, I really love the second chorus of your Tamashii no refrain arrangement , that staccato ,OMG, it’s simple, but that really takes the arrangement to a different level. ps. hey Kids next week?

Hey nice comment. Is the alternative fingering really necessary or just easier for him? And why is it hard to pedal .. I also dislike constant ovtave spamming in chorus.
@divisix0243 жыл бұрын
If you listen to the instrumental track provided in the description of the original music video of Kaibutsu (the piapro link), Ayase san actually wrote a counter melody in the chorus, which gives the chorus another layer. Really a pity Animenz didn’t include it in his version.
@Animenzzz3 жыл бұрын
My piano teacher once told me, "if you rely on the sustain pedal too much, you will forget to properly phrase the melodies". That's why I (almost subconsciously) connect as many melody lines as possible by finger legato - even using unusual fingerings such as 1-3 for an octave in 0:15 😅 I actually tried to make some variations in the chorus, but nothing really worked out. I just needed more punch in the Melody line, and chords / substitution melodies just didn't work out quite well to achieve a certain brilliance in the right hand. Octaves are indeed overused in pop music piano arrangements, but they simply offer the best option with our limited 2 hands. However, I did have the opportunity to add some fourths/thirds/sixths within the octave melody in the chorus. I will keep this in mind and try to do better in my next arrangement. Thanks for your comment! I enjoy reading analysis replies!

Thank you for your comment! I do spend a lot of time on each arrangement to find the best balance of piano technique, dynamic contrast, "surprise elements" and flow of the music. Basically, my goal is to create an anime piano arrangement, which never sounds "too much" but at the same time not "too empty" as well. And at the same time, replicate the most characteristic musical elements of the original song on the piano. (Most of the time, it's a characteristic rhythm in the left hand.) I hope I can still discover more musical ideas for my future arrangements as well!

Another incredible arrangement - I've listened to tons of covers for this song, and yours is definitely the best. I loved the introspective intro you added and your immaculate attention to detail (such as minimizing the vocal range of the first section to maximize the impact of the chorus). And of course, the bass for this arrangement was absolutely epic - that left hand at 1:46 was absolutely 🔥and I love how you included the hand-crossing technique during the part at 2:09! -Also, Legoshi is Animenz's stand confirmed- Speaking of key changes, G# minor has recently become one of the most iconic keys for popular anime songs - despite being a relatively "obscure" key, every year there has been a viral anime song that involves G# minor to some degree ("Traitor's Requiem" in 2019, "DADDY DADDY DO" in 2020, "Kaibutsu" in 2021, and almost certainly Aimer's Demon Slayer OP "Zankyosanka" next year). Not many hints for the next arrangement, so I guess we'll be in for a surprise! However, having read some of the suggestions this year, I have a slight hunch on what the next song will be - and if it is what I'm thinking it is, it's going to be absolutely incredible :) See you next time!
@Animenzzz3 жыл бұрын
Speaking of it, you are right! G# minor just sounds "otherworldly" and immediately catches the attention of the listener. Zankyosanka is definitely on my to-do list, once the full single comes out!

Some people said the chorus is not impressive compared with other parts. In my opinion, it's enough strong and well-balanced. Since the melody is rich enough. (Don't assume you already listened many times and expect to be more complex and complex) Keep the tension and brings the melody is good rather than adding too much to disperse the melody. Also, things come just right and smooth: Such as at 1:21, 3:18, and 3:37, the parallel octave helps strengthen the motion. Which the original music (vocal) is also doing so.

Oh my god! This is so far the best piano cover of Kaibutsu! I am so surprised with the begining! Thanks animenz for this masterpiece! Gonna repeat this song endlessly.

I've always hoped for a Yoasobi arrangement by you, and with Kaibutsu being probably my favourite Yoasobi song, this was an absolutely wonderful surprise. Thank you for your thoughtful arrangement and amazing performance of this song!

It perfectly presents the emotions expressed by the original song, and adds some of its own on top of it. Great, great!

Compositions are unmatched! I like the moon light you have but I can't help but be reminded of tsukihime. It would be dope to see a seimeisen cover!
