I have bought one of those first gen LCD’s by Emerson that has no HDMI but S-Video and AV for $10 at a local goodwill. I’m using a straight up S-video cable for my SS and it looks real good.

Nice! I do have a CRT and a Scart cable for the Saturn which gives an excellent image but I just wondered what it would be like to be able to play the Saturn on my big 4K screen. It’s certainly playable but the quality ain’t perfect. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍

Cheers for this review Tom! When the video started I loaded the site and was almost about to buy one, but then I saw the micro usb power and that's a deal breaker for me, as I literally have no way to power it as all my plugs are full...there's nothing near my Saturn that would act as a USB plug or something to power it. And then I watched the rest of your vid, and was put off even more! Unfortunate as about 13 minutes ago, this started off promising :D

Thanks Jim. I was fully expecting a unit that doesn't require extra power. It's my own fault for not reading the website description properly and being drawn in by the 'special offer' price. But yeah, it's quite a disappointing and cheapo unit. Probably worth investing a bit more money in something else. Thanks for commenting and watching though :)

@@thomascharnock Cheers mate! I have those HD Retrovision cables which are amazing, the best Saturn picture i’ve seen. HDMI would have just been just for the ease of plugging into any TV…which I guess is still the point of this device, just not feeling it 😅

Yeah the quality of the signal being so dodgy really kills the device even as a cheap scaler option. The old $100 retrotink 2X is still the best option to hook up multiple classic consoles to modern displays in my opinion. Of course a nice CRT still does wonders hooked up by scart or component! Love my crt lol. Thanks for sharing man!

Thanks for watching and commenting :) I do have a CRT but it's just a bit bulky and spends most of it's time in the spare room stuck in the corner as I have nowhere else to put it. I bought this Kaico thing thinking it would answer all my prayers...but if the prayers are only £25 then you get what you pray for haha!

No Rad2x by RetroGamingCables! Tested on 2 systems crisp image and audio thanx to shielded cables

S-video? So not even RGB and requires power? was looking for something just for a 2nd saturn, but seems a 2nd rad2x is still the better option.

Yeah according to the website it's using S-VHS. I mean, it's still playable it that's your baseline in terms of quality but yeah...probably look for alternatives if you need higher quality (and no USB power!).

I just got a cheap Saturn HDMI converter as my other one broke I did see this but I really didn’t want to spend too much as I really didn’t see that much of a difference… also 11:36 that commentator sounds like a Vince McMahon sample from the Attitude era 😂

Hello! I bought a similar device but from the Bitfunx brand. Just move the connector a little and the image will start to get noisy! And it also displays lines on the screen. Disappointed!

Yeah, it's pretty shoddy isn't it? The one I have also likes to just stop working after about 10 minutes now. I need to just hook up to the old CRT I think...! Thanks for your comment :)

Imput lag?

Yeah, there's a tiny bit of lag but it's not game breaking

As soon as you know it only supports S-Video it's game over.
