Kaija Saariaho is one of the great living composers . She succeded in making complex and convincing syntheses between several techniques. She learned a lot in IRCAM and goes on following the fantastic advances of digital techniques Shekw perfectly well, but did not adopt "post-Dramstadt" langauage. She also got very interested in the so-called 'specrtal schhol' with Frisey, Murail, Radulexcu, but took care to kkep some distances. Ina addition, she does not reject more trditional tehnoques whenenver relevant. Here, we are basically in a composition basd upon electronic processing and mixing. It is so easy to compose nonsenses with such techniques! But Io is quite well strutured, ornaized, and one can feel thet the composer took great careand aestetic sensivity to electronic effects, avoiding to use "ready-to-make" effects. I must admit it; I love this composer, which is two years younger than me. But in two yaeras, impossible to gat the same talent !!!! :-)

All great ideas inspired, music, films, philosophy, inventions, revelations all come from the collective unconscious. Very often artists use the inspiration from outside, deductive logic, the extrapolation of evidence and reasoning known to unveil the sumptuous and magnificent righteousness of a sound architecture such as this one. It is a truth that is spontaneously revealed to us or that with time we have to verify by ourselves in order to know if such and such a composer can change our minds and our existences............... :-)
