Just a suggestion ! Place a long pipe there with high flow to keep it draining and let the sea pile up stones as it wants Or do you get paid to clear it out each time it seal up ?
@Dloweification
@Dloweification 6 жыл бұрын
Agreed, they should install a drainage pipe, or a spill way with a gate if they don't want it to always drain out. Costly now, but less costly than renting that giant excavator several times a year indefinitely. With a gate set at the proper depth and distance into the sea, even if the sea piles up rocks infront of it, the pressure and water movement would clear that out upon opening.

Dloweification The river naturally breaches, it just takes longer no need for pipes or anything. They simply help it out

Funny how the excavator was on the other side of the trough at the start of the video, then somewhere it gets moved to the left side. Of course, they don't show the move but you can see the tracks from where it crossed the flow. I would have had to laugh if they had to wait for the flow to stop if they had waited too long.

Youre gonna pay a whole day on the equipment whether you get it done in 8 minutes or 8 hours. No point in renting 2 pieces of equipment for the day, just rent the one that can finish the job.

Just commenting that in other videos where these sorts of coastal estuaries have been opened, the water rushing to the sea creates stationary waves that surfers love to ride.

It would need to be a huge pipe to equal the normal flow of the open river mouth, and would eventually get silted up just as the river has been unless a shitload of money was spent to extend the outflow far out to sea.

What you are doing by breaking open your rivers is slowly but surely going to be the death of the river itself. Let the breach occur naturally and your rivers will slowly start to improve.
@_lak3rs_211
@_lak3rs_211 3 жыл бұрын
What are you talking about? The death of the river itself? LOL, the river will be just fine, and it would breach naturally by itself eventually, just could cause flooding in the nearby houses, so they clear it so that doesn’t happen....”death of the river itself” can’t get over that
@vanessaparker6232
@vanessaparker6232 3 жыл бұрын
If you open the river mouth to often manually you will start destroying your river. I thought New Zealanders would have known better. If left alone when the river does break through it will cut deep and there for clean the river out properly.
