I completed the kora of Mt Kailash in 2002. A truly great adventure in such a special place. The wonderful Tibetan people, the breathtaking scenery. The descent on the last day will live with me forever. I truly felt like I was flying...I found a connection with something I had never experienced before. A oneness with the earth, the air and the spirit! Thank you for bringing me back there.

there is no such thing as Unable. If you are strongly drawn to it, you can do it too. anyone can take out 15 days from their "Life" for such a Life changing experience. The thing about spiritual journeys is - when you feel connected - just go. trust me things will take care of itself. Everyone around you will learn to adjust. Ive been doing Solo trips for last 3 years and when I want to go - I just go. unless you have a newborn baby who needs your attention, I can understand. but if everyone around you are teenagers or adults - they are extremely capable of taking care of themselves- just try abandoning them for short intervals every year. They will figure out. you too have just one life- dont compromise. dont settle for anything less than what you feel you deserve. dont you manage when anyone from your family has to go on a trip or tour for weeks ? its not OK to keep your ambitions and desires on HOLD for everyone else to reach their goals. we are thankful to even see these mountains in our lifetime. 50 years down the line who knows these massive structures might not even exist !! consider yourself blessed to exist in a time when you can still enjoy and experience these visuals

A remote place to visit but not to belong to. To be granted an audience with fair weather and kindness is a great token to you all. I will never go there. Not that I don't see it for it's magnificence. But because I am adverse to foreigners like myself with the Bucket List Tourism checklist to hit and run. No amount of preparation can be done to make a tourist from America aware of this place. And i also fear that masses of people will only detract from the place, replacing sanctity with millions of "selfie" grabbing hikers, like children on an excursion seeking to get a stamp for every mountain and monastery visited even just for ten minutes. No, I don't every want to go because my presence would only detract from it. Thanks for capturing the moment for me to watch over your shoulders.
