Opening Day at JAWS! Almost made my Longest and Best Big Barrel 10/18/23

After a long summer... Pe'ahi aka Jaws finally woke up. It wasn't easy, the strong winds and long interval swell made it very difficult to paddle-in into the waves. But there is always the diamonds in the rough and I almost got the best barrel Ive had out there.

Hands down best wave rider on the planet! In the ocean and on land, what an awesome human! Joy smiles and trust is his frequency and it’s totally infectious. It’s like the brother, father, son or friend you wish in your life to have because you know you can trust him when your life is in his hands.

That barrel you committed to at 5:17 is without a doubt the heaviest piece of surfing I've ever laid eyes on. I could've drivin a mac truck through that barrel. I've been searching for my lower jaw ever since. It's gotta be on my living room floor. I'm 56 and have been waveriding since I was 18 living in Aptos, cal. Kai you're a legend amoung beasts. Ya that rainbow ends at Jaws.
