I along with few others came to Canada in 2007 and we finished our course in 2009 and went back to India. The course we did back then has enabled us now to earn more than an average Canadian will ever earn in their lifetime. Thanks to Canada, but those who think that student visa is meant to give permanent entry to stay in Canada are mistaken.

Six bands are the minimum IELTS score for a student visa. If after two years of study and three years of work experience in Canada if someone is not able to secure one band plus the previous score then this implies his or her previous IELTS was fake or manipulated. For PR seven bands in each must be criteria. 90% will filter out legally.

Canada is in recession. Unemployment amongst immigrant youth is in double digits. Making temporary residents permanent made sense when there was a labour shortage. Now there is an abundance of cheap labour. Canadian citizens are also facing layoffs and finding it difficult to find alternative employment opportunities. The government has identified this pain point of voters and it is taking remediation steps now. Things are going to get tougher for international students in coming 12-18 months. Best thing for international students is to peacefully go back to their home countries and explore coming back to Canada in future when economy is doing better. Canada doesn’t want you now. It may want you at some point in future.

Mr Thind they make it very clear,, all the countries that after studying you will have to go back. I was Ielts teacher for some time and we made students very clear even in ielts interview. They might apply to PR later on depending upon the categories. When applying to pr they get more points as they studied in Canada, is the only benefit.

Mr. Thind uncle just for u to know in any country if student come from outside they are considered as international students and they are charged three or four times more than citizens of that country. If any student goes from Canada to study in India they have to pay more than Indian citizens. It’s pathway to PR not guaranteed pathway. I personally students came here to study but they are driving truck and other jobs instead of studying. Government does not have to give any students PR. Why these protests are not happening in Australia, New Zealand or anywhere else. How come colleges are only failing Punjabi students not from any other country. I think we have to evaluate are we doing things correctly or messing with the system. Students should know English and pass the IELTs test. Many does not know how to communicate in English just wondering how did they pass the test and got study visa. I don’t mention to hurt anyone just want to understand all these issues.

Please raise the question or make discussion about how can a visitor or tourist in the country can get the AZ commercial truck licence. If government is allowing then defined there is hidden intention of the government that they intentionally left the loopholes for their cheap labor. On the other side they want students to left the country because they said they come here just to study. If the government clearly tells any student from anywhere in the world that they will not get work permit or pr after study. Then no one will come here.
