This summer I was determined to fulfill one of my projects what I've had in mind for a longer time, a timelapse project about my home region Kainuu, located in central Finland.
In four months of time I started my timelapse project at the first week of my summer holiday at my grandparents' summer cottage and that's were I came to end my final scene in one of the many coming frosty autumn nights. None of this wouldn't have been possible without the people who took part of the project in their own way. The same story goes on while exploring new locations here in Kainuu with people taking part in the adventure.

Hi Adam, I enjoy this video about my home region of Kainuu a lot too. I have many family members living around the States, also in Minnesota where I was happy to visit for my very first time back in early 2016 and I have been thinking it quite abit too how much a like they are. It’s no wonder that many Finnish immigrants came and settled to Minnesota back in the days :)

Thanks you so much Jacques! Actually the camera isn't a 4k camera. The video consist from still photos so in some cases you could even make a 4k video with your phone. :)

Wau! I've born in Kainuu and the places shown are familar to me. This timelapse was incredibly fine! And same in Finnish: Wautsi wau! Thank you Ken! I noticed your msg just now, so sorry for the late answer. The video is filmed in Kainuu region located approx. in the center of Finland. We've here many beautiful locations worth of visiting so feel free to ask any tips from me if you are interested. :)

***** Yes you can see in some cases, but most often auroras are in far horizon here. If you really want to see auroras I recommend you to go to more Northern Finland to increase your changes. But there's is still other great things in addition to auroras in here in Finland and at Kainuu :)

don't travel only to see them, you won't see it.Nobody will, not even finnish ever see them. Nobody can stare at the sky 24/7 all day, every week, every month ,all year to catch them. I have seen them well about twice in 40 years.

No onhan se vaikuttavaa kuvaa kotiseudustamme. Teemana taisi olla sääilmiöt. Mutta voisitko seuraavaan videoon saada mukaan jonkun mahtavista eläimistämme. esim aamu-usvassa majesteetillisesti asteleva hirvi taikka karhu. Järvikuvissa voisi uiskennella vaikka joutsen. Tässä videossa ei näkynyt yhtään eläintä, mitä vähän ihmettelin, ja niitä sentään on mesissämme aikalailla.

Yksi syy miksi en juuri kuvannut eläimiä ja vastaavaa oli timelapse-tekniikan tarjoamat mahdollisuudet. Kyseisellä tekniikalla teen videon yksittäisitä kuvista, joten laatu on aika skarppia sen jälkeen. Kamerasta suoraan tuleva video ei ole ainakaan oman makuun tarppeksi hyvä ja video on jo valmiiksi paljon pakattua. Mutta, toki tulevaisuudessa on suunnitelmissa enemmän luonnon kuvaamista itse videona, tilanteen salliessa.

Ulkona kuvasin. Kameran peitti muovipussi ja linssin ympärillä oli semmone DIY lens hoodin jatke ihan kartonkista ja jesarista tehty :D. Mahdollisimman suuren tein siitä, mutta ei kuitenkaan liian suurta, että ois tuulen mukaan lähteny tai tullu ite kuvaan mukaan.

Nirmoy Modak Yes it is. Here is the link for the Dynamic Perceptions link: www.dynamicperception.com/Stage-Zero-Pro-Timelapse-Bundle-p/bdl-0-6ftpro.htm As said I only have Dynamic Perceptions MX3 controller, but their Stage Zero slider system is really one of the best in its category. Yes, DC motor can do interval steps. I also have DC motor on my DIY dolly.
