Its the same lead singer! He grew his hair out, but did cut it back to short! His vocals are so unique. Just like Will from Lorna Shore!

Hell yeah Shadow of Intent. It's multi-tracked vocals, all Ben though. He's got some of the best enunciation on harsh vocals out there IMHO. You should definitely check lyrics for SoI songs, Ben packs a ton of em in there, very well-written. Chris (guitar/production/primary songwriting) and Ben (vocals) have been in SoI since the beginning. I'm a big fan of the direction they've been going lately, less on the deathcore, more death metal vibe, without abandoning the deathcore entirely.

This was my recommendation! really glad you enjoyed. Shadow of Intent started as a predominantly deathcore band with the breakdowns you're used to hearing but have progressed to a more standard death metal sound with mostly low growls and rare breakdowns. I won't answer any of the questions you've had since the comments have already done that for me but in my opinion these guys are just getting better and better with every release and we should have new music from them soon considering they've been working on the new album and the last single was slightly under a year ago

Best vocalist live in the scene guy is insane live. BTW there are blast beats in this song but not in the beginning. To identify blast beats its simultaneous constant/fast snare and bass drums. The beginning had fast bass drums but not steady constant snare hits on top of it. The first blast beats happen when you make the stank face at 5:05 and lasts thru 5:51. All different variations of blast beats.

Love to see more of Shadow of Intent. If you want to hear more of them then I'd recommend searching up the lyrics as well, many of their songs have some deeper meaning or cool lore. With that being said, if you want more melodic Shadow of Intent then here are the songs I love the most: 1. Melancholy 2. Oudenophobia 3. Chthonic Odyssey 4. Malediction All 4 songs are from the same album, Melancholy, and the lyrics are quite beautiful but haunting, especially the closing track Malediction. It is a concept album detailing a mass suicide controlled by a demonic goddess, and tells the story of a man in that mass suicide trying to escape from the after life.

To answer some of your questions, and give you some info on SOI: The vocalist and primary lyricist is Ben Duerr, he's been at the helm of SOI from the beginning, he is layering his vocals at parts of this song, for example, if you listen closely in the first section, he's doing his signature booming lows, while also doing some highs in the background, his voice is just so distinct and so strong in both cases it's a bit hard to tell. As for the drumming, there are some blast beats involved, and I'm no expert on Metal drumming and wouldn't be the best person to go to to pick up specific techniques, but what I can tell you is, there are a number of different kinds of blast beats other than standard blasts, and a number of different techniques for fast drumming in general. Some of my personal favorites are the gravity blast, the bomb blast, and the gravity bomb blast, you can look that up if you're curious. A good channel to go to in order to hear some examples is 66Samus. One other thing you may not realize is, this song has breakdowns in it, they're just in a significantly different style than in The Heretic Prevails, one you clearly like more. breakdowns are surprisingly versatile when you've got the right band creating them and making sure they don't take up too much of the song, or destroy the pacing.

the first part aren't blast beats, it's the bass drum using a double pedal which makes it sound real fast, although this one isn't as fast as other songs they have

infernal cleansing is a song by a band called hollow prophet, check it out ❤(and has shadow of intents vocalist, lorna shores drummer and slaughter to prevails guitarist)

I think for your tastes (melody, meh on the breakdowns), some of the next Shadow of Intent songs you should check out are : Malediction, Gravesinger, Farewell (def. have lyrics pulled up for this one), Intensified Genocide, and for one of the most insane vocal showcases you've ever heard check out "The Migrant"
