it would interest me whether there is connection between Japanese (which is related to Korean and maybe also Mongolian) and Finish (which is related to Hungarian maybe also Turkish) languages. So far I know there is not much connection between Japanese and Chinese, as between Finish and Swedish

Gaijin means strangers, so not bad word. However we are using this word much in front of foreigners.It may be rude. If you buy clothes in our country, Cuff wil be short, because Japanese body shape and Europeans one is different.
@Cliffem824 жыл бұрын
daioshou008 Elderly people tend to use Gaijin-san, which is a word with more respect for foreigners. I don’t know who started saying that Gaijin is a word with racial discrimination. It’s just an abbreviation of Gaikoku-jin (外国人). Nothing more than “Gringo” that Latin American people use for American/Europeans.

The biggest culture difference is that china (Korea) and Japan are total opposites on privacy and personal space. To the point other cultures like Europe USA Russia middle east India etc. are between them. Chinese culture tends to take everything personally of others and themselves understanding eastern culture. Japanese people are totally the opposite on taking it personally on other and themselves on eastern culture .

Hey Kaisa :) I really enjoyed your video and I thought your experience of culture shock between Japan and China is super interesting, as you (like you mentioned yourself) seem like a person who is very culturally aware and would fit into many different cultures easily :). I loved the first Japan Vlog as well. One thing I noticed though is that I personally think your Japan Vlogs are a bit more informative than your China Vlogs as you point out little cultural details more. I think this may have to do with the fact that you live in China and you don't really think those "everyday situations/ things" are as interesting, so I would like to tell you: THEY TOTALLY ARE :D hahahaa I will move to Beijing myself on February 1st (only for three months, will work for a German company there (I'm German)) and I am suuuuper excited, as I have been interested in visiting China for over two years and already started learning Mandarin etc.. I have not been able to travel to anywhere in Asia though, so being in China will be my first time in Asia ever and even though I have a couple of Chinese friends (and watch a bunch of Chinese dramas) I still would enjoy more content on your everyday life in China! :) So, I hope you will be able to show us more of your life in China. I do really enjoy your travel vlogs too though, don't get me wrong :D. Also, if you are ever feeling like meeting with a stranger (female, 26 years old, nice and not creepy, I swear :D) for a coffee in Beijing, I'd love to have a chat over coffee. Have a lovely day :)

There is one more Japan related video (the wedding) still coming up, but otherwise more Chinese content in the future. Also, welcome to Beijing! Beijing might be a bit daunting place right now, but hopefully the situation becomes more normal soon and you could enjoy the life here. Once you have a wechat, please let me know. It would be fun to meet over a coffee 😊☕️

It's not reasonable to speak loudly in a quiet place. Just think about the reason why you make a big effort to speak out loud because you can't hear what you're saying in a small voice. So, the purpose of speak loudly is to make sure that you and the partner can hear each other, instead of speaking loudly itself. When there are fewer people or most people speak in a small voice, there is no need to make a big voice at all. That's nothing to do with habit, it's just for the quality of conversation. After all, no one really likes bothering to shout with partners except for quarrels.

You are right. So many people showed video how is Japan. But many things are happened in especially Tokyo or northern big cities. I originally came from southern part of Japan and I got culture shock when I started to live in Tokyo. Tokyo is not representative of culture in Japan. They have too short history to matured culture and northern farmers base. Provably contents of her impressive changed if she went to other part of Japan. I can not say if I see only New York and this is US.
