After many requests from you guys, here it finally is, our love story how we met on Tinder in China. Ep 51⬇See more below⬇
We are an international couple of Chinese husband and Finnish wife. As unromantic as it sounds, we met on Tinder. What makes our How We Met Story Time video a bit more interesting, is that we met on Tinder in China. Now you might be thinking that can you even use Tinder in China. Yes, you can, and you can meet the love of your life on Tinder in China, yay!
I managed to persuade my Chinese husband to sit down with me to tell you guys our couple story and chat about how we met in China and how we fell in love. We made this video into boyfriend tag format although I guess it's already so last season, haha! I hope this story time video in Chinese will answer your questions on how to date in China, how to tinder in China, what is Chinese dating culture like and how to find a boyfriend in China, lol.
Life as a mixed couple (amwf) might not always be easy because of cultural differences or a language barrier, but meeting my Chinese husband is definitely one of the best things that has happened to me in my life. I hope this video can bring some happy moments to you and inspire you to share your love story or find the love of your life - maybe in China.

During 1968 I was working in Hong Kong, met my wife in my friend’s restaurant, she is the niece of lady owner, we got marry year later in Taipei and moved to Toronto since 1974. 51 years goes by so fast, we grow old together. Love your story! Enjoy your life together! Wishing you Happy Ever After!

Enoch, very cool, enjoy your retirement together. In 1991, I came to Texas on a training visa from Shenzhen. Like America life style right away, so I went to an immigration law firm in China town to extend my 6 months visa. I met my wife who was a clerk there. Seem no one was interested in each. Until one year later, my wife said some kind words when I visited her office, likely pay fee and her words touched my heart. She did not show interest in me then. I called her next day to ask her out for a dinner. I pretended to thank her for all the help she gave. We married in less 3 months, March 27, 1992. She moved from a half million house to the cheap apartment in China town. Our two children both in college now, boy will be a surgeon and girl undecided, likely in medical field because both major in chemistry. I was the very first police officer in my agency from China. I am a patrol Lieutenant now. Today my wife still a law clerk with a supervisor title, in charge of three law clerk. I am in charge of whole shift of officers. I am a shift commander in a major US city. Lot of gun violence in US city, sometimes it looks like a war zone. Not daily though.

That was a pretty nice story about how you met. Didn't know you were married until I saw this video but you guys seem to compliment each other very well and you both look good together. Asian guys are usually a little shy in front of the camera (that's why many don't become actors ... hahahaha). I think a lot of guys can learn from Anbi on how he approach life and relationship and treatment of women! Anbi is ahead of his time! Love the fact that he was straight forward, charming (i.e. flowers) and honest about his life status (i.e. "I have no money, car, or house"). As China become more and more modern and stable, I hope its people can look beyond status and money as a way to judge one another (though the West is not that much different). Thank you Kaisa for raising this important issue. You are helping and micro-changing China with each and every post for the better!!! I hope you continue to speak freely about the good and bad parts of China. Love to hear more about how the relationship evolved from first date to proposal to meeting parents and marriage. Right now, living vicariously through KZbin couples such as yourselves as I am sheltering in Boston. Really happy for you both!

I think one has to be quite brave to be open about one’s financial status or show one’s feelings very openly at the very beginning. It also tells about priorities in life, what matters the most in life. In China and in many other countries too money and status unfortunately define a lot who you are and what opportunities you would have in life. To be honest, having a house, a car or housing stability are important in America too. Those things make life easier every where.

Yeah, you’re right. Having property makes life easier everywhere. But I think women can also own property so that women don’t have to choose a partner based on their wealth. Having property is also a less defining factor in welfare states, so I think it’s not that common in Finland to consider money when choosing a partner. In China there was a famous tv series quote several years ago related to this: “I would rather cry in a BMW than smile on a bicycle.” I would choose to smile on a bicycle. 😃

i am very interested in the cultural and social-cultural differences between you! i used to come out either very rude or brutally honest to my ex and his friends. they tended to like it a lot, though! so, i was fine. better honest than a liar. anyway, we were completely different in social standards, i had but a lot of mind process to be done and get used to, being the clown at the dinner table for people...since sometimes things i either said or did was funny to them lol. south african vibes really left me positive, though. such heartwarming people with generous hospitality. sad to say the relationship couldn't last because of the distance and time management. i hope you'll have a very happy life with your new-found husband! :) suomalaiselta suomalaiselle, peukut :) have you learned to make any new dishes in quarantine or since you started dating? i would be really interested to see your husband's favorite cuisine, maybe even recipes... certainly, it might be far from the content you usually would make, wouldn't it suit for a q&a? also, i am a big foodie and i demand recommendations to search from online lol

Kiitos! Actually I love cooking! One of my first videos was a cooking video where I cooked kimchi jjiggae, go check it out, there’s a recipe too 😁 I would love to make more cooking and food related content. Right now I will however not make cooking videos for a while since we are about to go back to China and there we have to stay in a centralized quarantine for 14 days. Once we are finally back at home in Beijing I could film my husband cooking his favorite dishes and sharing his recipes. 😊👍
