ලංකාවේ අලුත් අවුරුද්දට කිරිබත් වලට හිමිවෙන වැදගත් තැන වගේම, ජපානයේ අලුත් අවුරුදු කෑම මේසයට නැතුවම බැරි ආහාරයක් තමයි "කයිසෙන් මකී" කියන්නෙ.
ජපානයේ අධිරාජ්‍ය වරුන්ගේ කාලයේ ඉඳලම සකසන, මිල අධික වර්ගයේ කෑමක් විදියටයි "කයිසෙන් මකී" සලකන්නෙ.
කයිසෙන් මකී කියන්නෙ සූශි වර්ගයක්. "කයිසෙන්" කියන්නෙ මුහුදු ආහාර. "මකී" කියන්නෙ ඔතනවා කියන එක. පිසින ලද මාලු වගේම, අමු මාලුත් මේ සඳහා යොදාගන්නවා.
"කයිසෙන් මකී" හදන හැටි අපිට කියල දෙන්නෙ Shikisen ජපන් ආහාර ආපන ශාලාවේ කලමනාකරණ අධ්‍යක්ෂිකා නයනා පෙරේරා මහත්මිය.

Kaizen Maki - Sushi Roll
Milk rice or ‘Kiribath’ is one of the most prominent and irreplaceable traditional
food of Sri Lankan New Year season. In the same way Kaizen Maki has become a
must have food item of the traditional food table laid down during Japanese New
year season. Just like the milk rice is considered of utmost importance for a new
year in Sri Lanka, Kaizen Maki is considered to be an indomitable food item during
New year season of Japanese culture.
Kaizen Maki is a type of Sushi. In Japanese language ‘Kaizen’ means sea food. The
term ‘Maki’ can be described as ‘wrapping’ or ‘rolling’. Both cooked fish as well as
raw fish are used to prepare this unique food specialty.
Today Mrs. Nayana Perera who is the Managing Director of ‘Shikisen’ Japanese
food restaurant is going to show us how Kaizen Maki is made.
