Any tips on getting a reliable oil filter cover gasket placement and tightening? I have had a number of incidents where it does not appear to leak initially but an hour or more later it will leak, sometimes a lot. I now keep a few quarts in the passenger seat storage but I would prefer it be reliable, and not a mess to clean up. (1959 CJ3b, f-head)

I recently picked up a cj2a with the hydraulic pump on it in place of the oil filter and there is no filter on it. Is there a kit to put one on? Or what would you recommend?

So you don’t have the correct canister for that engine

dont use modern oil for christ sake 🙅‍♂it will ruin all your oil seals. USE SAE 30 mineral oil as the vehicle was intended to use since 1942

modern SAE 30 might not have enough zinc in it for the flat tappet cam and lifters....Rotella has it.
