I love seeing how you bring all the colors before you start painting! I live in a very dry climate, so the Saiboku dry before I can get them all ground and into the palette. If I want to blend colors, I have to limit it to two or three at a time.
I feel like those ink sticks could last 20 lifetimes. Beautiful work. Much ❤ to you from Nashville TN USA 🇺🇸

I love these videos you make! I also love the longer cuts you added in this video because I love seeing your process. I can’t wait for part 2!!
@kaitekiart7666 Жыл бұрын
I'm glad you like the long cut. I have a habit of swinging my brush around when I draw while thinking, so I was happy that I was quite calm at this time 😹
The technique of putting down the shadow with one brush and blending out with a different, clean brush is so smart! I imagine the clean brush is just barely damp, or even dry? I really enjoyed this video, as well as the beautiful art! Well done. 🥰

Thank you 😊I Do not use a wet brush because it contains a lot of water; wipe it off with a tissue before use.

The sounds are lovely because they are a pert of creating the art, but watching you create the artwork is the best part.
It's late so I won't attempt to translate my comment this time 😪Congrats for 600K subscribers! 🥳 The piece is so vibrant and full of life! I can't wait for Part II 🥰 As always, thank you for sharing your process!

Your work is gorgeous. It never fails to inspire. May I ask how you prevent reactivation of the grey ink when you go to apply the colors? You use water to spread the colors but the grey ink doesn't seem to move at all.

Your brush control is really impressive! And these inks looks very satisfying to use! What Block are you using to tape your paper down? It looks very pretty, and I am looking for one.
@kaitekiart7666 Жыл бұрын
Thank you! At first, I attached the paper with masking tape, but it came off when I used a lot of water. So I later reattached it with wide paper tape.

I'm taking a class on water media painting in January, and I thought I would try to apply some of the skills I learn in class to the saiboku shimbi inks like you use in this video. How long does it take for you to grind the ink sticks? Can the ink be stored for a few days after you grind it? The grinding seems very meditative, but it would be nice to do that at home and take the finished inks into class with me for painting.
@kaitekiart7666 Жыл бұрын
It only takes about a minute to grind a small amount of ink stick. When the ink dries, it becomes unusable, so add water while painting. I think it's best to use the ink within half a day after grinding it without letting it dry😊
Beautiful. Curious if the initial drawing of black ink is waterproof, and gray ink is applied over that.

🍃🌷🍃 I'm mesmerized by this type of art, do you give classes? Do you have a complete list of what supplies i need to do this art? I would love to make this watercolor paint, I would like to know the type of paper and glue and the rest of the materials if is possible please, thank you so much for sharing thsi art, greetings from a mexican in California 🍃🪻🍃
I must try this. Where can I get where can I get supplies like this if I'm in the US.

I think Kuretake also sells their art supplies on Amazon in the US. If you are interested in ink, please check out Kuretake's products.

What is the brand of the carbon like paper that you use please
After preparing the paints, how much time do you have to apply them before they are no longer suitable?
@kaitekiart7666 Жыл бұрын
Color ink cannot be used if it dries completely, so add an appropriate amount of water and mix while using. So I don't know exactly how long it takes for the paint in the ceramic plate to dry.

I'm always thinking about that too 🤔 The definition of Nihonga differs from person to person, so you may not even know until you ask the artist himself.
