A little tip I have found is that if the spine is the same down the length, (does not change dynamically) you can cut from the end with the wobble and put the insert into the original nock end of needed. Your logo will be off, but you are not wasting arrow shafts.

I like the enlarged leading edge on the inserts, makes a slightly larger hole in a tough target so it pulls out easier during practice. Thanks for great vids. I also use an 6 shaft JoJan for fletching. Goes quicker. //ji

I like to use a right offset on my vanes cause that will make the points stay tight, specially if you do a lot of target shooting, a left off set or helical you will always have to tighten your points after a shot or 2.

Nice job, couple tips. On those arrows that have some odd rolling to them, when you put them in the roller and spin them you can see which end or both ends have wobble, and cut that end off. Will help reduce waste in arrows that are out of spec. Also watch the torch when doing that, I've seen someone smash the insert in and the torch falls over lol. Was also close to your hair! Also if you're taking the time to build them, knock tune them as well. Before fletching them set up a target about 10-12 yards and shoot it bare shaft, you'll notice the arrow will kick, you twist the knock until the shaft is looking straight back at you, once you hit that point mark the arrow and knock and fletch it up. Will help you out with accuracy a little more.

Kaitlyn I saw a video the other day where you shot over a nice buck I have a little tip you can try instead of coming down on a deer with your sight come up from the bottom of the deer I was having the same problem so I changed to coming up from the bottom that way if you punch the trigger a little early the deer will react to the shot and drop into the arrow if you come from the top and punch early the deer will react and it will duck your arrow if you see this try practicing coming up from the bottom it helped me a lot I would either blow out the heart or both lungs love your videos hope this helps your buddy dean 🌹

You can rub string wax on the edge of the jig to keep any excess glue from gluing clamp to your fletching. Check out EZ fletch. You can fletch all vanes/feathers at the same time. You can get them straight fletch or different degrees of helical. It doesn't take much spin to improve accuracy. I experimented with straight and helical vanes on one of my crossbow set ups, and the helical was definitely more accurate. I shoot helical out of all my recurve and compound set ups. Check out Ranch Fairy channel for improving flight and arrow lethality. Start with his video, The Process.

Ok,....broad heads are supposed to be at least an inch in front of your riser or inch and a half,.....and a little longer is a little more kinetic energy. Unless its a newer bow that's designed for an over draw. I only choose to make Arrows of Aluminum or wood. The drag from feathers and vanes help the arrow recover from the Archers paradox. A little off set creates spin. A cement type glue is used for some styles of nocks, feathers and veins. A hot melt glue is used on incert's. And some people use epoxy on inserts. You want 4-5 inch vanes or feathers for broadheads,......... on some mechanicals it don't matter. And if you a head hunter (doe in heat) put in a like a travel sized hair spray bottle. I lay down in a hay field I spray 3 times into the wind and list for moving grass raise up and shoot.

Well first off its good to see you are building your own arrows. Next, stop touching any surface glue is gonna stick to... The oil in your skin could ruin a glue joint.... Then when gluing your inserts in, the insert should be hot so the glue sticks better..... When you get a chance fletch 3 shafts with right helical fletchings, because the helical fletchings help your shaft fly straighter when dealing with cross winds... I had my own archery shop for years so I kind of know what Im talking about.... Also if you glue down the ends of your vanes, they will hold on better if you ever have an arrow pass through a target.
