David Goggins started transforming his life by running 400 yards... 👍🙏. In my eyes, that’s also a little step. Thanks for the great message!

I learn Japanese Kanji every day before bed, for now more than 400 days straight. in the beginning I was seeng how far the streak could last, and now its like brushing my teeth, I can't even forget it. Not when I am sick, not when I am on vacation. I always need to do at least one review. That's the only goal. And of course I do a lot more than that. But when I just can't because I am sick or something, I need one review which takes 20 seconds. So its amazing that I have learned 370 kanjis this way, which I wouldn't have if I said: I am going to learn 10 kanji a day. I would have stopped after 14 days for sure.

I would like to enact a modified kaizen for the upcoming year. I think it is simple enough to stick to and can easily lead to more results than resolutions.

This sounds a lot like the 2 min rule. I use it for practicing guitar. If I do not want to practice, I just tune the guitar and play for 2 min (most of the time I do more). Now it is already tuned so if I want to play it later in the day I will not have to tune it. It works.

Interesting about change making people feel fear. I work in a professional where people find a job and stay in it often for years and years. If anyone needs comes in they feel threatened. They get really defensive about ‘new ways’ and change. They often sabotage any change. I always wondered why so passionately against change….now I see it’s prob a genuine experience of fear. Actual fear that they have of change.

This video made me frustrated. . Because what I am aiming for is not gonna be achievable through this method at all. . I need to make strides on a daily basis for couple of years to get where I want. . You can't give this advice to just everyone. . This is something only few people should do. .

It's upto you to define what small steps are... my small steps might be huge changes for someone else. Whatever it is you do, as long as you don't trigger the fear mechanism, you're using the kaizen philosophy. Like I said towards the end, you might still end up where you want to be by going all out, but chances of burning yourself out are very high.
@kuro7585 жыл бұрын
This definitely works. No matter how big your dreams are, there are always small efforts that you can start with. Your comment suggests that you're already overwhelmed by the amount of work you see in front of you. Kaizen says that's okay, but let's start with this little thing here so we get started
