I like the Muay Thai style low kick more. It's got more power.

It does have more power however it's telegraphed which makes it easier to block. A strike hurts the most when you don't see it coming.

@@xoPRECISEox I agree, but you can clearly lull someone else into a false pattern. You can low kick someone twice, and if they check it twice, sweep them the third time.

@@garvwadhwaney306 they are both good kicks. The muay thai style low kick is a long range kick. The Dutch low kick is a close range kick. All high level fighter's thai and Dutch use both kicks in fights.

Yes you can if your Intention is to cut off your opponents angle. It’s not wrong it just depends on context. “Do not x your legs after the kick…” is a true statement but only if the intention was to 1) train a beginner 2) if someone intentionally wanted to do it

Youre doing a very particular muay thai low kick (STILL EXTREMELY EFFECTIVE). The traditional kick has no 45° step, you rotate on your foot and turn your hip all the way over to send the kick through your target. Dont listen to me though im just an observer DO YO MFKING THANG HOMIE 🤘🏾🥊

@@jmgonzales7701 try Dutch kickboxing. Even real Muay Thai fighters with steel shins from Thailand suffered their first losses from Dutch kickboxers more specifically Ramon Deckers who is the Mike Tyson of K1 Kickboxing and Traditional Muay Thai and dominated in both rules both in Thailand and everywhere else.

@@David-ty5jk Ramon Dekkers lost around 36 fights in his career , 23 of which came from the Thai fighters. He won around 18 fights against the Thais. He went 2 - 2 with Coban. So stop exaggerating that he destroyed all the thai fighters he fought. You can only name Ramon who did well with Thais but I can name endless Thai fighters the likes of Samart, Sagat ,Coban, Somrak, Dieselnoi etc who dominated strikers from across the globe. There is a reason why Muay Thai dominates as a striking weapon in MMA. More people ain't gonna train in Dutch KB to implement it in MMA.

Context and how you use it matters, there's no "better" or "worse". You save Muay Thai style low kick at the end of the combo since you rotate your entire body into the kick + very long recover time in order to create that massive power. After you used it, you back out of distance or else you risk getting hit since your whole body is exposed when recovering from the kick The Dutch prefer using boxing so their style of low kick is to mix along with boxing combo, the short recover time make it easier to get back punching the opponent, and it still hurts, just not as much as the Thai.

They're better if you get into a street fight and ask your opponent to kick with you. Otherwise it's the streets, you better be prepared to punch, kick, and especially defend against punches so the Dutch kick wins based off functionality and reflexes to counter and defend against punches

@@David-ty5jk 9 times of out 10 I can assure you that the guy that you're fighting (because of ego and petty shits) won't be able to do much when you fire the Thai style kick right from the get go. They say in the gym that you need to set up the kicks with punches or else you will get checked or your kick will get caught, but the street bumps that you might encounter would not be able to do any of those defenses. Their legs are weak like spaghetti noodles and will collapse after 1 or 2 full blown kicks Now for self defense on the other hand (where you actually in danger because you're forced into a violence situation against your will), I would advise to not get into boxing range or throw any form of round kicks since there will be hidden weapons involved (9 times out of 10 it will be a knife or something stabby). Oblique kick or teep to their legs when they advance. Unlike what most pussies on the internet whine about leg break, it won't break the attacker's leg but it will disturb their momentum and giving you space and opportunity to escape or deploy your firearms (if you're an US citizen)
@David-ty5jk
@David-ty5jk 2 жыл бұрын
@@jaketheasianguy3307 all that depends on the fighter in which he can make any style work but if you aren't that guy they using Thai kicks will likely make you drop your own self or just get floored if he decides to come in rushing which is what happens especially if you open up that much. It definitely will take much longer to learn in order to effectively use it and have enough balance to be in the fight and keep kicking. Not to mention you need to be able to kick him in time which is harder because he's now either more far away based off the far range you are fighting or he will close the gap just naturally by rushing you or punching. As for teep kicks those are definitely some of the best ones as far as street fighting kicks and low kicks as well. This is why Dutch kickboxing is so essential because one could defeat a boxer, karate black belt and Muay Thai fighter and they have the defense for all 3 styles as well as the best chance in a street fight rather they run into natural brawler with dangerous power or a kicker with experience landing many headkicks against experienced opponents not lacking defense they will have a solution to most opponents and carry the benefits of 3 striking arts which are all essential when paired and give you the unorthodox advantage as well as defensive and aggressive too because of the nature of this style

you should be on the ball of your foot when kicking you get more of a rotation
@stephenellis6601
@stephenellis6601 2 жыл бұрын
Going from punch to kick combinations and vice versa, a full rotation of the stance leg is less efficient. A step/jump pivot calls for a flat foot since you are stepping or jumping into your desired position, taking away the need to come up on the ball of the foot. We also have to factor in that he is demonstrating low kick techniques. The need to rise and pivot is sufficient, but not necessary.
