Thank you, William, for this interview, brings back great memories of when Carl used to train Steven Baugh, two other students and I in a garage in Gardena. In the 70s. In fact Daishi Steven Baugh just passed and I will be attending his funeral in Vegas. Looking forward to seeing Carl and other friends down there. Thanks for being a good friend to my brother Steve too. Mark Shiroma

I do Tai Chi, and am really like the way he teaches. Very impressive.

I felt bless to had a chance to study in the middle 90's with the great master Sifu Carl Totton, he is a great master and even bigger human being.

Have lots of super8mm films of Totton Sifu, performing basic training & Sets!! Great stuff of the early years of Gung Fu 😅

Muito interessante a forma que ele pratica e o bom é que usa um espaço bem pequeno.

I am just checking out this series and most of the arts are quite good. But I have to say, this one is a real problem. You're not supposed to wave your arms around. The body moves as one, that's one of the basics of the basics of Tai Chi. Not to mention, as a Chinese person, and someone that studies actual Daoist works for self-improvement, I genuinely feel insulted. This is really one of the worst examples of Oriental mysticism I've seen. I appreciate you creating this series, but I almost feel responsible to leave this comment here. Keep up the good work 🙏

What would you say are the Daoist teachings that Carl Totton seems to misunderstand? As a Western practitioner, I generally stick to just the Dao de Jing and Zhuangzi texts and a handful of other early writings (and amusing folk tales of immortals, they're always interesting).

No disrespect but there is too much taiji like this. The host isn't even in in fighting stance for these applications. Its a distraction technique done by teachers. Talk you into submission
