Nick Beggs on bass was and is enormously talented and actually wrote this I think. The extended bass solo on the 12’ version is outstanding ❤

I was in my 20’s in the 80’s and I alway love that song 🎵 and reconnected to that band by watching VH1 bands reunited. That episode with reuniting Kajagoogoo was so good. They reunited this band and I didn’t know that they dropped the lead singer shortly after this hit which created a bunch of screaming girl teens, ( teeny band) Management thought they four did need Limahl the lead singer. Shortly after they fizzled out. The good news they reunited on the show and buried the hurt they created to Lamahl. They realized they made a big mistake and got rid of the wrong person instead should have been the manger. This episode tells a lot about this band and the excellent performance all on VH1. And they have been touring together ever since. 🔥🔥🔥I also love their song ‘Hang on now

I’m an oldie. This was played incessantly on the MTV. MTV was cool back then. I was a metal kid but the MTV got me into Gary Numan, Duran Duran and all kinds of different genres.

Thanks for a great reaction. 😎🙌🎶Nick Beggs is an outstanding bassist and this bass line showcases his impressive skills. Nick named the band. He said it sounded like the sounds a baby would make. He wanted a unique name. During the 80’s there were a lot of unique band names like Spandau ballet, Devo, and Flock of Seagulls. It was a time of experimentation. Ooh to be Ah is another great track by them with a great bass line. -Patty 😎🎶👍

The 80s were fun when it came to hair & fashion. And nobody cared if people (particularly adults) thought it was 'weird'--that was almost the objective. We lived life as if there would be points awarded for creativity. For more interesting 80s hair takes check out the bands: Flock of Seagulls, Bow Wow Wow, Berlin, Adam Ant, Wendy O. & of course, Cyndi Lauper.

I remember buying this on cassette tape back in the early 1980’s. Nick Beggs on bass now plays for Steven Wilson and Steve Hackett. He also has his own band The Mute Gods with Marco Minnemann. All very different music than this 80’s pop band. I absolutely love this album White Feathers by Kahagoogoo!

Yeah, Beggs is a beast on the bass. Got to see him with Steven Wilson in Basel, CH a few years ago and he was bonkers good. Nice singing voice too. Recently I found a mid-80's LP he did with an outfit called Ellis, Beggs and Howard that sounds like it is of that time...

The 1980s era was the rebirth of British bands making splashes in the U.S.! Kajagoogoo's 'Too Shy" was one of the biggest hits by British bands in that era! A couple more to check out: "Promises, Promises" by Naked Eyes and "Der Kommissar" by After the Fire. They both feature funky bass lines. Great review! I'm glad you liked the song! People often say John Taylor of Duran Duran was new wave's best bassist, but Kajagoogoo's Nick Beggs and Japan's Mick Karn were head and shoulders better
