The intro to this song is great. It reminds me of how New Order would sometimes take 2-3 minutes before bringing in the lyrics to a song, and in a way it's just the song hyping up itself.

The song was kind of cheesy in real time but holds up well 35 years later.

Here's some trivia when this song came out in 1983 and was in the top 10, Duran Duran's "Is there something I should know" was also in the top 10, nick rhodes also produced this hit by Kajagoogoo, this was their only big hit here in America together. I still listen to this song even today.

Cat Sarai, in 1983 Limahl (the singer) was fired by the other band members and KGG went downhill, but in 2003, the producers of VH1's "Bands Reunited" show successfully reunited them. It was wonderful. Take a look: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qWTNeWyimJitjq8. Thanks from Rio-Brazil

Yeah, Ooh to be aah, Kaja-goo-goo, Big Apple and of course Limahl's solo hit fromThe Never-ending story soundtrack. I remember my sister being devastated when they split up in 1983. They of course reformed. See if you can find the MTV Bands Reunited episode where they try and get them all together in the same room, I think it's on YT somewhere. Nick Beggs is now a legendary session bass and Chapman stick player, who's played with everyone who's anyone. I must have seen them live about 15 years ago in a nightclub in Swansea. I put some videos up on my channel. Though it was videoed with a very early iPhone, or more than likely an old Nokia phone.

Very good live band. Nick Beggs is a top class bass player as well as Chapman Stick. Limahl ( Chris Hamill ) and Jez Strode are from London, Steve Agnew Stuart McNeil and Nick Beggs are from Leighton Buzzard. Other hits include Oo to be Ah, Hang On Now, Big Apple, The Lions Mouth

Kajagoogoo was a one hit wonder with "Too Shy" in 1983. After the "Too Shy" mania past, Limahl (lead singer) was kicked out of the group by the other four members (jealousy driven). Limahl went on to have a solo hit with "Neverending Story" in 1985. The group reformed in 2003 (with Limahl) for a 20 year reunion tour and played together for another 7 or 8 years before breaking up again.

BS. Limahl had, as is typical of singers, a huge ego and he just didn't fit well with the rest of the group.

They were actually from a wonderfully named town in the U.K. called Leighton Buzzard. They had a few hits back in the 80s, made a terrible decision to sack their lead singer Chris Hamill (anagram Limahl), but still had a few hits afterwards too. I saw them at The Arts Centre in Poole, and they could do it live as well. Their album was called White Feathers, and had quite a few good songs on it - well worth a listen Cat. Try “Turn Your Back On Me” with Nick Beggs singing the lead. He was the bass player but had a good voice too.

just found your channel. as much as i enjoy seeing the younger generations discover this music, it's just as great to see someone my own age (but, goodness, you seemed to have aged well!) just grooving along and discussing the fantastic music of our youth. that being said ... if i close my eyes on this one, i can go right back to the summer of '83. i'm 11 and i'm outside in the driveway painting my bicycle matte black and drawing on it with gold and silver metallic paint pens. randomness, pt. 1: the girl in the video, Carolyn Espley, has been married to Dennis Miller for over 30 years randomness, pt. 2: at just one second into the video, there's a Michael Baldwin sighting. he's the older fellow with the beard. he was a designer on many British 80's videos and cameos in at least 20 of them.
