It should certainly be a city. It looks very nice. They've done a good job. So much to see there. They have everything there. University, Parks, Stadium and plenty of shopping. Nice share👍👍Like 84

Gosh, last time I was in Kakamega, was in 2004. I first visited in 2001. Loved the people and the town, but I can see the amazing change since then. I’m British, but have lived in the USA since marrying my American husband. Thank you for posting.

Kakamega lies next to a tropical rain forest, the only rain forest in Kenya....it receives the highest amount of rainfall in Kenya...in terms of living, it should rank higher than most towns in Kenya, fresh air, secure, low cost of living, and very clean.

Great piece on the town of my childhood.Done very well.Great seeing some of the places I haven't seen in many years like Lurambi,Bukhungu stadium that is being Upgraded..etc.Good work by the Governor.Kudos also goes out to retired President HE Mwai Kibaki for converting Weco to a fully fledged University-MMUST.This really helped revive the town.

Honestly, I clicked on this video because your thumbnail had a sign to Kakamega High School. I tell you the truth, in this world today, Size, numbers, don't count - only EXCELLENCE counts and makes humans take notice! When I see the words KAKAMEGA HIGH SCHOOL I recall EXCELLENCE! IN SPORTS AND ACADEMICS! Keep the flag of excellence flying high, and Kakamega will be world renowned!

Epic kakamega town is one of the few towns with extensive tarmac within the town centers and estates such as amalemba and otiende @dolphine yes I totally agree with you about the words concerning kakamega and the mzungu yes it came from the word Khakhameka....and you forgot the word isikuti also was coined from a mzungu who was very impressed by the isikuti dance and when he saw the dancers he said" IS GOOD'' but the luhyias misinterpreted it as isikuti.🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭in addition ikolomani constituency came about becouse of difficulty in pronouncing Goldmine 🤣🤣🤣 .... shout out to the luhyias .... please don't forget to bring us the updates on the newly constructed level 6 hospital one of the biggest in this region courtesy of whiclife ambetsa oparanya ,I would have wanted to see how the construction of the remaining bukungu stadium terrases,at some point construction had stalled ,how is the construction....
@dolphine2543 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback...Luhyas are just on another level, you mean Isukuti came from the word 'Is Good' 😃😃this is so interesting...I'll update you on the level 6 hospital construction..for Bukhungu stadium, construction of the remaining part is going on..I even shared it at the end of this video

I will be returning after my birth and many generations in the USA, visiting kakamega to learn more about my Luhya ancestry and culture. Kakamega is highly recommended for me to visit.
