I wouldn’t even call those Ground GM shield pieces junk. If you can fashion the front parts or even just scratch build anything to fit on the front to give it some bulk, you’ve got yourself a usable shield. You’ve already got all the functional bits there.

A friend of mine suggested using the GM Ground Type shield parts to upgrade the HGUC Ez-8's shield by means of slight modification

@@kelpedgamer Indeed. I ordered a Zaku Cannon on P-Bandai because I was excited about leftover parts from the Origin Zaku. (I don’t care too much for the Zaku Cannon.) It’s also a fun part of Build Fighters kits, such as the GM Sniper K9 and the Ez-SR.

I’d recommend gluing that head jewel in place. That’s what I’ve done with both my Unit 2 and Unit 3.

I find that this guy has way too many stress marks everywhere on the joints. Also the red jewel on the forehead is kinda loose, making it easy for it to fall off and lose it entirely, my friend lost mine

I main this suit in GBO2 and I'm not put off by the wide face at all. In fact I like it because it's different. Kind of reminds me of how the Nu Gundam looks in Char's Counterattack

I actually got all the older HGUC of the BD. Then like a few week later they announced the revives xD. Still kinda prefer the older ones since prefer the OG manga look.

I have both really like the older one better. The articulation is basically the same. Only had to trim 4 small tabs in torso. I like the head better too. The shoulders stay in exam mode because they peg in not slide all flimsy. Also i dont know if anyone remembers it also came with exam mode stickers. I have the original sticker sheet. So I made it with the red stickers. I felt like it wasn't worth the upgrade for one weapon. The machine gun i didnt care with this gundam. It's cool dont get me wrong but the figure didnt feel like an upgrade.

Those wide mouth vents are a liiiiiiiiiiiittle distracting. Not a huge fan. Looks nice otherwise though.

As someone who had the old models I would still tote the "EXAM" versions of these models any day over them. The face proportions do bug me a tiny bit, but when everything else is just so much better there's just not enough point to give the old models a second thought.

That stress mark happens on my HGUC Ground Type bc I use the polly caps on the torso instead the plastic one bc it leave stress marks and same way with the hg denial

You’d have to make some modifications, but you can definitely make it work. Alternatively, you can just scratch build a shield front to stick on the leftover shield bits.

I actually like that the weapons don't have a trigger guard. That means it's easier to give weapons to other kits without worrying about fitting issues. Just slot them into the holding hands of basically any HG ever made and you're ready to go.
