I wasn't expecting a jab at the Huckebein form Super Robot Wars. Which for context is a Gundam in everything except name. Various of the OG units in SRW have varying inspirations from mechas from already existing series, with the Huckebein to Gundam comparison being the most blatant. Hell! The Mass Produced Huckebeins even look like GMs! With a visor instead of eyes and everything!

As much trying to jab a Huckebein is concerned I wouldn't mess with it namely because its top of line range weapon gravity based (how are you supposed to survive that with Nanolamite armor?) and the First Huckebein (as well Huckebein 30 and its upgrade) has a Black Hole Cannon, your effectively screwed if you get hit by it.

To clerify, there's the original Barzam design from Zeta Gundam, but Advance of Zeta redesigned it to make it look more like the "mass produced MKII" it's supposed to be. And then ontop of that Zeon captured some, painted them red, and added some leg thrusters. Then AOZ also adds an aqua/marine Barzam. And after all that, there's just the Barzam II, which has a titans version and a Zeon captured variant. (Edit) AND THEN there's the Refined Barzam from Gundam Sentinel. (End of edit) Plenty of stuff to be had in the extended continuity! And then for the Gunpla side of things, there's a HGUC of the original Barzam, there's a white recolor called the "Weiss Barzam" from a special episode of Build Fighters Try. Then there's a HGUC that came out just last year of the AOZ redesign, that comes in Titans Blue and Zeon Captured Red, and the Zeon version even comes with the leg thruster attachments! Hope this helped at least one fellow Barzam lover.

One other great way that you didn't mention is the collar. The Mk.II's collar is yellow. the GM Quel's is not. The machine in question has a VERY YELLOW collar. That's far easier to see than the tiny V-fin in the shots shown, and is a great visual cue. Maybe that will help a bit?

M1 Astray is technically a "Gundam" on paper since it is based off the concept of the Prototype Delta Gundam which resulted in it to be like the Hyaku Shiki without the Beam-Resistant Coating ... whereas the Murasame is based of the Delta Plus lol.

For a mobile suit to be considered a Gundam, I've always thought it needed to meet a majority of the following criteria; 1. It has to meet Gundam level performance specs 2. It has to have a limited production run 3. It has to instill a level of fear in the enemy 4. It might have a head V (EZ-8 is one of my favs, which doesn't have a head V) 5. It might have Gundam in the name (Gundam Ground Type S which is a GM with a Gundam head). That's what I go by, and all of the Gundam's you had on your list met at least 3 of these.

I don't know the history of the other three Pixies but iirc the description of the Code Fairy Pixie mentioned it was heavily modified Pixie, which is pretty apparent when you look at it. In Seed it is much easier to differentiate a Gundam from not, since only.... 3? I think, people in the actual Anime that called them Gundams. Kira Cagalli and Auel What makes a Gundam well a Gundam in SEED are the Acronyms so yeah even the non Phase-shift using units like the Astrays are called Gundams because they have the OS If they invent a mass produce OS with the GUNDAM Acronym in them, then the M1 and the Murasame can be called a Gundam ex. General Universal Neurolink Drive Access Mass Produced in UC how ever, it is a more of a name or title, like how they named the F91 just because it looked like the Grand Daddy, Also Silver bullet has all the characteristics: Gundarium, Beam weapons, Gundam Head, yet still not called a Gundam

The Doven Wolf is just basically a Zeonised Mk-V. Its specs were the same besides some equipment and cosmetic changes. Silver Bullet did the same. You also have the Delta Gundam lineage. A Gundam that didnt exist physically and its "fixed" version, the Delta Plus, isnt a Gundam. The you got the Delta Kai which is developed from the Delta Plus and got the Gundam designation. Confusing as fuck

The Gundam “ground” type is basically the same story as the Aqua Gundam, a modified GM chassid fitted with a gundam and basically used as a command/special forces unit (also some Ez-8 in there because of the lack of a V-fin)

It was probably deployed in space during the eleventh hour at Ao Boa Qu, so its main deployment seems to be mop up ops earthside. Besides which it has a resemblance to the 8th MS team ground units so is probably an homage to them, since Thunderbolt is non-cannonical.
