Hi, I've found you for the first time today and I've been watching your videos all day. I'm a bit of a personal finance geek too, a couple of years ago I paid my mortgage off 15 years early and went on to buy two properties to rent out to allow me to leave my job in a factory and start my design business which I now run full time. I was wondering if you had any experience with investment properties and what your thoughts were on going down that route? I love the advice you give on investment ISA's, I think they might be my new thing to look at. Loving what you are putting out x

Thank you so much for that great comment and for finding my channel - appreciate the support greatly. I haven't personally invested in property, perhaps down the line though one day!

I was very surprised to find out recently that in order to buy a house (by getting a mortgage of course) you need a good credit score. The surprising element was that I've never had an overdraft and you would think that is proof enough that you have never needed to borrow money because you're managing your money well. But no. You need to have borrowed money and returned it in order to gain credit score.

Angela Vasiari you don’t need a credit score it’s just the banks being lazy. Tell them you want a manually underwritten mortgage which does it the old fashioned way. Good luck 👍🏻 any further problems don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Would household items like cleaning products etc go under “needs”?

Instead of keeping a notepad for tracking your spending, would you still recommend using apps like Yolt or Money Dashboard which do it automatically (and also assuming you pay everything on card)? I assume nothing beats writing it down manually, but do you think this is a viable alternative?
@JenniferAMThomson4 жыл бұрын
Great question - in this case the traditional method using writing it down but completely agree with making it work for you even with electronic budgeting tools. Great suggestion!

Any advise on where to put a fully funded emergency fund to make the most of it but still have it accessible for emergencies?
@JenniferAMThomson4 жыл бұрын
I would probably say a Cash ISA is your best bet, one where you can immediate access so you might only get 0.5%-1% interest but at least it is something. Great question!
@stevenwilliams5204 жыл бұрын
EMMA Roy yes just a regular savings account where you can get instant access. The emergency fund is not savings and shouldn’t be treated as such. Good luck 👍🏻
