(SPOILER) bro to your question : aparna character being present seemed perfectly reasonable to me (sorry for the long post. I usually don't write such. Personally, loved the movie a lot and hope you find my reasons convincing) 1) It's fully human and primal need to want company. Especially after a traumatic incident and being alone with a dad having dementia for 3 yrs in that house, he finally might've decided to marry. And since few years passed after the death, he might've become overconfident of there being no need to worry. 2) Aparna would have had no reason to be suspicious, nor would ever have found out, if that gun missing case didn't come. That's why asif was so tensed when the gun was missing in the beginning. Because it wasn't just a gun lost case but a lot more issues that come with it, including his newly married wife becoming suspicious. If not for gun, there is no reason to be suspicious of vijayaraghavan only. His room never have contained anything outright incriminating and all the evidence he keeps collecting and writing would make no sense without context. Also, any sane person would just brush off vijayraghavan writing and burning stuff as the mad behavior of a paranoid old army man with dementia. 3) Importantly, the movie reflects deeply if seen through the relationship of a father and son going to great extent to cover for each other. Mystery element is solely because the movie takes us through the lens of aparna before she (and us) get the final reveal. 4) minor point - the aparna character in intro was described as a person not particularly focused on anything, shifting multiple jobs and finally preferring to just sit at home. This might be a reason why he chose her. He might have assumed she would not be so charged and persevere to uncover this truth.

Just watched the movie on hotstar and straight away coming to see what you have said about it...yessss I had the same feeling like...dei ennada neenga kodutha build up ku ivlothana nu...but ofcourse build up was nice !!! I was waiting to see if they would show some background of Aparna...I even started thinking oru velai புதிய பறவை Saroja Devi character mathiri kooda irukumonu😅... Also another logic issue that bothers me is that, the gun is missing...child is missing... Wife is dead... Aparnabalamurali's character is very relevant. Until the climax that character is from audience perspective. Finally when we and that character got a clarity on things that might have happened (we believe what Ajayan said. But that may be his own twisted version), her character chose to not reveal to anyone else and continue to support Ajayan as if nothin happened. Her character represents the mouth covered monkey among the 3 wise monkeys. Ajayan and pilla representels the other 2 wise monkeys. Hence the name 'Kishkindha kandam'.

Opinions are subjective bro. One you liked will not be the same for others. There are so many factors that influences a person's opinion like the hype they had, things they felt as good/entertaining, the elements they felt as bad etc. Everyone have their own criteria regarding what they find as a good movie and you can't expect everyone to have the same criteria in every movie they watch.

Because ultimately everything has to come together as a single good movie. From the very onset goat promised nothing other than fan service Till its end , it provided fan service with bare minimum story (which was ok for that movie) Whereas LEO promised a very interesting setting of the plot, Just to jump from bikes to cars ,unbelievable action and lousy flashback. When the third act crumbles The whole movies crumbles

In the monkey dying scene, it was shown that the gun was left there. Maybe the boy took the gun and hid that somewhere. the granddad might have forgotten about that gun completely.

@@praveeng3351 At the monkey dying scene, any sensible adult's (with or without memory loss) first move would be to take the gun and keep it in a secure place either by granddad or his friend (that watchman) rather than burying the dead body of the monkey. However finally the gun is found in a very secured safe locker inside the bureau by the daughter in law. Moreover the story narrates there is another similar gun which was there in the hands of a moneky shot by a photographing team! Who lost that gun and other details are not revealed.!! 🤭
