Grace Antony is an Indian actor and classical dancer who works in the Malayalam film industry. Her debut film was Happy Wedding (2016) at the age of 18. She has then gone on to do many memorable roles in several movies that ran successfully. She was noticed for her role in Kumbalangi Nights where she plays Fahad Faasil`s wife. This role led to many other important roles like the one in Oru Halal love story and Kankam Kaamini Kalaham opposite Nivin Pauly. Recently she was seen in Appan where she played the lead actor Sunny Wayne`s sister and also in Rorshach movie where she was paired opposite Mammootty. Her versatility and the ability of playing nuanced characters combined with her impeccable comic timing is what has helped her become the preferred choice of many directors. She is also a classical dancer especially trained in Bharatnatyam.
In this video there are several lighter moments where she talks about her experience working with Mammootty. She talks about how she evolved as an actor. But alongside she delves into her personal journey. She speaks about her childhood where she had to deal with several biases and prejudices. She talked about how she had to face body shaming on several occasions. She talks about how parents tend to put unsurmountable pressure on their children during Interschool Youth Festival that happens in Kerala every year called the Kerala School Kalolsavam. She explains how corruption has become a part of Kerala Kalolsavam and has led to many teachers being bribed to award prizes to the ineligible contestants. She also speaks about the industry and how the women are treated withing the industry and women`s safety is always a concern. The incident at Hilite mall in Kozhikode is something that has disturbed her in a big way, she talks about that as well... Her choice to become an actor and how she ventured into the area of acting is also explored. She is one of the most promising young actresses and in this interview we discuss this pretty much every facet of her life.

That Kalolsavam incident she described brought me back to my Kalolsavam days. When you hear that the prizes are already fixed, and that too just before entering the stage, it really affects the mind and body. For me, it took years to heal. After school, during the university youth festivals, I tried to avoid stages where Kuchipudi performances were taking place because the dance songs themselves brought some kind of heaviness to the heart and tears to the eyes.❤‍🩹
