Kalamunda Circuit, Feral Groove Mountain Bike Trail, Perth

Feral Groove is a great trail that starts at the top of the hill where Scorpion is. It heads in the opposite direction and finishes at the Farrel Grove carpark (hence the name!). The trail builders have done a top job on this track over winter and it is now better than ever with heaps of railway sleeper berms and lots of opportunities for air time. Flows real nice and is definitely one of the most fun descents in the Perth Hills/Kalamunda area. Oh, and how cool is the sign at the trailhead?! Murilo L Cheers, glad you enjoyed it. The Kalamunda trails have come so far in the last 5 years or so and are now such a great place to ride - good to hear you have been getting out and hitting them!

Man, I'm moving to the Scarborough area from Vancouver in January... I'm so stoked you guys have some decent trails out in WA! How long of a drive from the beach, including traffic n all??

It is probably about a 45-50 min drive to Kalamunda from Scarborough. There is a great network of trails there - around 50kms of purpose built singletrack. There are a few other good spots near Perth as well (Dwellingup is worth checking out). I wouldn't expect big mountains like you get in Canada though - WA is pretty flat!
