Echos 3rd act is WAY weaker than the others. It bothers me. Act 2 is way more useful. 3rd is more physical strong, and gravity is very strong, but it has a very limited reach, which makes it weaker than Bites the Dust just by itself.

Also, Act 3 ruins what makes Echos great for me, that is the sound powers. Instead of gravity, Act 3 should have been able to make sound vibrations, sonic booms or something like that. It would be way cooler and theme appropriate.

I thought he was a tamagotchi type creature. Like that's why Echoes starts as an egg and has a bit more of a creature collector game look. As for theories, each stage is representative of Koichi's growth. Maybe Act 1 would be something around his first step (resolve, reaction to a time of need?) And Act 2 would be more about Koichi standing up for himself (the 'words' he uses while escaping confinement from Akikiko)..so being assertive both in communication/relationships & in combat... Act 3 then, might be something about Koichi's strength changing to be more concrete. He can stop others in their tracks... he isn't just using his stand to defend himself or react to actions on him using his 'voice' anymore. He's able to actively choose separately from how others. We then see him using Act 3 in a more active role in the fights: chasing, stopping, and attacking enemies, not just using it to escape or defend himself like Act 2. That being said, Echoes is what it needs to be when it needs to be. The forms from a writing perspective allow for the evolution alongside Koichi, without his powers changing without explanation or stand abilities being as nebulous as they were in Stardust Crusaders... but that's probably not as interesting and kind of a given so..

Koichi wasn't strong enough to survive the arrow's virus but because Josuke patched him up, he survived and got a weak stand. His fighting spirit was something that could grow but was pathetic at the time, meaning he got a stand that could grow and was pathetic at the time to reflect that. The reason we haven't seen that kind of stand before is because stands that can make you survive the arrow when you shouldn't are rare, meaning Koichi's circumstances are near unreplicable.

i always assumed that what happened was that koichi got hit by the arrow and was NOT chosen/ worthy of being a stand user and was supposed to die. But due to crazy diamond he actually survived anyway and that resulted in him getting a half-baked stand that developes as koichi becomes more and more worthy of having a stand as the story progresses.

I always felt the echoes reflected koichi's confidence in intense situations, the more echoes involved, the more koichi felt more confident in a fight. A similar story can be said for johnny joestar since his stand also comes in acts, and he starts out with low confidence due to his paralysis, but after he agains a stand from the heavenly body, he becomes more and more confident in himself despite his disability

It’s weird with “Tusk” because at least “Echoes” by Pink Floyd has 3 acts over its 23 minutes 30 seconds runtime, whereas “Tusk” by Fleetwood Mac runs for 3 minutes 29 seconds and would hardly be what I would call for acts more than other songs that have a similar quick buildup. And I mean this from a song-to-Stand perspective on their design, narrative wise Tusk makes a lot of sense of course in character growth.
