So glad to have found you. Loving riding with you. I have an Echelon bike, and I’m concerned that I’m not understanding your resistance levels. When I was riding with Echelon, they would advise starting at level 8-12 and to go up to 20+ which was tough. Are the resistance levels on the Echelon bike the same as other bikes? At level 9 I’m not sweating like you and I’m defo not as fit as you 😩. Please let me know. Thank you 🙏

I just got Shimano clip in shoes! I love them. I watched your video to get the best fit and think that’s all good. I had a question about resistance- my bike does have a cadence counter but when I try to keep up with you I feel like I have to take off resistance. Is that just because I need to get stronger? Also is 10 resistance the knob turned as high as it goes?
@kaleigh2 жыл бұрын
Hi Jennifer!! Yay!!! Awesome you got yourself some Shimanos!! So happy you love them! The resistance is relative to each person and is based on your rate of perceived exertion, so 10 may or may not be turned all the way up on your bike! It should feel though like it is the very top of the hill, if you were to turn it anymore from your 10, you would slow down or stop. When you mention having to slow down to keep your cadence, in most cases I think keeping resistance up, even if you slow down a bit is best and the speed will come with time. However, if you find you are slowing down a lot, you would want to adjust your resistance a bit!

Is there a way or gage to use if I’m using a peloton to know what resistance to use
@kaleigh Жыл бұрын
Hi Alexa! Great question! I don’t have a number for number translation because the resistance I call out is all relative to each person! Once you find your 5-10 in my workouts, you can definitely correlate the numbers to the Peloton bike! My resistance levels are based on feel, so a 6 should be moderately light, while still feeling something under your feet, as if you were just starting to climb your hill. A 10 is the very top of your hill, this is a very heavy resistance but you are still able to maintain a smooth pedal stroke and not drop below 55RPM. I also have a video which explains each number in detail! You can find that on my channel homepage under “beginner’s guide to indoor cycling” or this link here! kzbin.info/www/bejne/bnXFoXWOfKZ1brM I hope this helps!! 😍

So I just got done setting up my bike, and it doesn't have numbers on the shifter for resistance. Do I just adjust a little at a time when you say "go up"? This is frustrating. It just has a + and a - symbol.
@kaleigh Жыл бұрын
Hi Amy! My bike doesn’t have numbers either. The numbers I call out are based off what you feel, for example a 5 is like riding on a flat road. Just enough resistance where the pedals aren’t moving on their own. A 10 would be the steepest climb up a hill where you can maintain a smooth pedal stroke. Hope that helps! 💜
