I think only 4% of it has been translated and trying to translate the original text into English is going to be impossible unless you're fluent in Finnish, since the language is very old and archaic. And no, the Kalevala is not scripture. It's more like a fanfiction based on the real runes.

HungLoWang I stated that though it may be more apparent in the two of the worst.I do notice that even Hinduism and Buddhism has aspects of thought policing in them.they also insist on keeping limits on ones frame of thought as some thoughts are deemed "negative" or "impure" without considering context.there are rules of conduct that tell you to either live married or live devoted to the faith as a monk/sage. As a hindu who has read lots of history...upto around 1000 AD ancient india was deep into philosphical discussions and temples were place of debating different theories...the knowledge was carved on walls......there was concept of 'purva paksha' which was basically questioning even accepted truths.....then in medieval era this practice was lost and it was just warfare,plunder and survival....... Hinduism is simply collection of ancient indic philosphies and spirituality.

Womanliness and manliness will be judged according to one's expertise in sex" Need no elaboration. "A person's spiritual position will be ascertained merely according to external symbols, and on that basis, folk will change from one spiritual order to the next" Seems almost like a stab at new age religion.
