People are innately attracted to things they lack (whether they want to/are aware of it or not). When one aspect within ourselves is overdeveloped, we will feel a need/calling to develop the opposite aspect to restore equilibrium and harmony. The Westerners have been made miserable by capitalism, consumerism, and materialism for so long that their spiritually dead/blind souls are beginning to awaken, while Indians are already so accustomed to their spiritual culture that they're now focusing on having more material/sensual pleasures in their lives. It's just nature/the universe's way of balancing itself.

I can say “I believe there is a talking tea cup sitting in space behind the moon”. It is not on you to prove to me there isn’t, it would be on me to prove that a talking tea cup exists, especially when all scientific knowledge points to it being preposterous and ridiculous. And just saying that old literature says that humans have been around for longer than 4.3 billion years is not even a remotely close amount of proof. If it were than I can take any historical text and just say “ oh look this is proof that Hercules, or the burning bush, or Horus, or Odin, are all real and have the true knowledge. The idea of science must be false”

Jason I'm a retired Radio and TV person. Grew up in radio. Worked "onAir" and Program Director, Operation s Mgr. And owner manager. Since I'm qualified to critique. That said, your loud music blast takes away from your narration, not adds anything but unpleasant, unrelated noise, like cheap movies and old radio. Any sfx should never be louder than voice. In fact I used a 20db reduction below any talk. Seems so many contribution to KZbin are" trying to make a movie" in #4 you get it right with background music low but present, sounds good, but the blast for .... punctuation? are an unnecessary throwaway. Each of the 14 Planetary Systems are in there own time zone, for example, on Brahmaloka, the top most planet in this single material universe (there are billions of other universes too that are deep inside other Brahmanda universal shells coming from Maha Vishnu) Therefore 100 years on Brahmaloka is 311 trillion and 40 billion human years from the view point of our earth globe. The " long count " system is what , up till now , I've understood to be , so to speak , " gospel " - having recieved this knowledge during a time I spent as a " brahmachari " in an ISKON temple during my early 30's . The founder of ISKON , Swami Bhaktivedanta Prahbupada , explains our current time period to be , as you point out here, the age of Kali , but that , as he goes on to expound , we find ourselves currently in , what he calls a " golden age " lasting 10,000 of our salar years , having begun approx 500 years ago with what he refers to as the advent of the " Golden Avatar " known as Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu , whom , he claims is a divine incarnation of Krishna . Prahbupada goes on to mirror what you describe concering our current age of Kali , as he points out the appearance of the Kalki Avatar introduced at the close of the 432,000 year Kali yuga cycle . According to Puranas, each kalpa consists of fourteen Manvantaras, and each Manvantara is headed by a different *Manu* (the first Man of every cycle). The current universe, is asserted to be ruled by the 7th Manu named Vaivasvata. In Vishnu Purana, Vaivasvata, also known as Sraddhadeva or Satyavrata, was the king of Dravida before the great flood. He was warned of the flood by the Matsya (fish) avatar of Vishnu, and built a boat that carried the Vedas, Manu's family and the seven sages to safety, helped by Matsya. Total age of universe is 311.04 trillion years (human years). Current age is around 155.521972944 trillion years. How it is calculated: -> There are 4 ages on earth which keeps circulating: Satya Yuga - 1.728 million years Treta Yuga - 1.296 million years Dwapara Yuga - 0.864 million years Kali Yuga - 0.432 million years Total: 4.32 million human years. -> This yuga cycle is called maha (in english, it means great/big) or divya (divine) yuga. One thousand such cycles forms one day of Brahma. So one day of Brahma is 4.32 million * 1000 = 4.32 billion human years. Each such day of Brahma is called a "kalpa". His night also constitutes 4.32 billion human years. During his day, life exists in universe. In nighttime, no form of life exists. So one complete day and night has 8.64 billion human years. -> Age of Brahma is 100 years. Each year of Brahma has 360 days and same number of nights. Thus, total age of Brahma is 360 * 100 * 8.64 billion = 311,040 billion human years. i.e. 311.04 trillion years. This period is called "maha kalpa". -> The life span of the universe is one "maha kalpa". i.e. 311.04 trillion human years. This time span is also the duration of one breath of "Vishnu". When he exhales, thousands of universes emerges and one "Brahma" is born in each universe. When "Vishnu" inhales, all universes get sucked and Brahma dies. -> This cycle is non-ending and eternal. Thats why "Vishnu" is considered eternal in Vedic Science (or religion). How much old is our universe: -> Note that the period of Satya Yuga is 0.4x, Treta Yuga is 0.3x, Dwapara Yuga is 0.2x and Kali Yuga is 0.1x where x is the time-span of one maha-yuga cycle. I will use 'x' as 1 maha-yuga cycle subsequently. -> In 1 day of Brahma, there are 14 "manvantara" (Manu Avatar). Each "manvantara" is divided into 71 "maha-yuga" cycles. So total make 14*71 = 994x (mahayuga cycles). -> Remaining cycles (1 day of Brahma contains 1000 maha-yuga cycles) are used to fill gaps between manvantara. Before and after each manvantara (called as "sandhya" and "sandhyamsa" respectively), there is a junction of 1.728 million (age of Satya Yuga, or 0.4x) human years. Total number of junctions are 15 (since there are 14 manvantaras). So total gap period is = 0.4 * 15 = 6x. Hence total makes 1000 maha-yuga cycles or 1 brahma day. -> According to the Vedic texts, current age of Brahma is 50 Brahma years and 1 brahma day (we are in the 1st day of 2nd half of brahma)and we are in the seventh "manvantara", in the 28th turnover of its 71 yuga cycles. In this cycle, we are in the start Kali Yuga. Age of kali yuga is not known perfectly but it is around 5000-10000 years. For calculation, lets assume 5000 human years. -> So current age of our universe (in terms of maha-yuga cycles) = (50 * 720 * 1000) -- 50 years * (360 days + 360 nights) * total no. of cycles in one day/night + (6 * 71) -- 6 manvantara each of 71 maha-yuga cycle + (7 * 0.4) -- 7 junctions or gaps for 6 manvantara + (27 * 1) -- we are in 28th cycle of 71 + (0.4+0.3+0.2) -- In this cycle, we are in Kali Yuga. Satya Yuga, Treat Yuga and Dwapara yuga are 0.4x, 0.3x and 0.2x respectively. + around 5000 human years -- very small, so ignoring it. Thus total age = (36,000,000 + 456.7)x = 36,000,456.7 * 4.32 million = 155,521,972.944 million years = 155.521972944 trillion human years. Now add the age of kaliyuga. i.e. around 5000 human years.

Each such day of Brahma is called a "Kalpa". His night also constitutes 4.32 billion human years. During his day, life exists in the universe. In the nighttime, no form of life exists. So one complete day and night has 8.64 billion human years." @@marsrishi i would never equate modern scientific parameters with ancient parameters, because in Indian texts our universe's age is in Trillions, not billions by modern science. I dont particularly know the exact age of Earth according to ancient scriptures but it is way more than that of what modern scientific figures tells us. If you want to make sense and equate with each other then i can point out that life forms on earth started after the age of the earth by almost a billion yrs according to the modern science. What i usually do is gather information and open to all possibilities whether modern or ancient.

I was watching a amazing Documentary on the Yugas done by Sheldon Moore. I like his ideas on the Yugas cycles being far shorter than explained. He brings tons of geological evidence to prove his points as well as he has the backing of many Hindu scholars. He makes a grate point that when the Pyramids were built and other mega structure's it was around 12,000 years ago for people to build said structures they weren't in the dark ages. I think these Yuga cycle numbers are way to long for it to make any sense with humanity as we can prove modern humans have only been around for 200,000 years or so. It seems like humans go threw cycles no doubt but the length of time seems far shorter than what represented in these teachings. It's very possible that the amount of time these cycles last is mislabeled. if these cycles lasted 1/10th the time they would line up 100% with geological evidence for the state of man kind. Also the binary star system being 24,000 years makes these 6,000 and 12,000 years cycles make much more sense from a astrological stand point.

Both short and long count systems are correct, the short count is basically superimposed on the background of greater Kali yuga. In essence, although there's an overall decay given we live in the very beginning of the 432,000 year cycle of the great Kali Yuga, there will be still "mini" ages of ups & downs determined by the precession of the Earth giving rise to the mini cycles of 24,000 years "located" within the greater 432,000 years of Kali yuga. In short, both views are valid and not contradictory.

There is a lot more you can update. Writing a few points. For our solar system time factor is 1.08 The center of solar system spins once is 27 days. This is what gives 27 nakshtra. The sun follows the bary cycle and complete 27 nakshatra in 27.7777 days. Number of days on earth in a year wrt center of solar system = 27.77777x 12 = 333.3333 years. The number of days felt of earth = 333.333 x 1.08 = 360 days/ yr. 1 day is added because if earth's Red shift. 4.2 days are added due to Sun's Red shift. This is how we have 365.2421 days in a year. So Kaliyuga =432000 nakshatra of Sun light = 432000/ 333.333 days = 1296 years. N so on. These yugas are not same in ascending and descending cycle. In ascending cycle yugas are Kali - 1458 yrs Dwapar - 1458 X2 yrs Treta - 1458 x 3 yrs Satya Yuga - 1458 x 4 yrs Current time is descending Kali - 1152 yrs Dwapar - 1152 X2 yrs Treta- 1152 x 3 yrs Satya - 1152 x 4 yrs. The time line meets carbin dating. That means if you have any literature or calendar dating of any substance, with the help of these calculations,you can actually calculate carbon dating of that substance with out performing test. It defines time dilation too. You may calculate time dilation with this data. Yes,you talked about pyramids also. They were made during last descending dwapar Yuga, which is the current period of this revolution. It was all flooded upto 200 ft. They were built inside the water. There is a misconception even in Hindus regarding lengths of Yugas. Originally and correctly the total length of 4 yugas is (4800+3600+2400+1200=12000) human yr in half cycle. Length of1 cycle is 24000 human yrs that consists of 12000 yrs descending period of 4 yugas and 12000 yrs of ascending period. The mistake in the length of the yugas are due to considering that these lengths are in divine yrs (1 divine yr = 360 human yrs) therefore you find Kali yuga is 432000 yrs long because they multiplied 1200 with 360 (1200*360=432000) to convert length into human yrs. The good news is that Kali yuga is over in 1700AD and now we are in Dvapara yuga. Because the current cycle began around 11500 BC and descending period got over around 500 AD that was the darkest period on the earth then began ascending period starting with Kali yuga for 1200 yrs that ended around 1700 AD. The development in science and technology and in the human consciousness clearly reflects the qualities of Dvapara yuga which are going to improve as time passes so I see great time ahead for humanity as a whole.

I believe each cycle should be correct. longer cycles of the Yuga's could also contain smaller cycles within them. As everything is infinite to begin with I can see how this may be the case. Great video!

This is the first time - Ha! - that I have heard the Yugas explained from the Eastern point of view. The Western point of view is that we are leaving the Kali Yuga and entering into the Aquarian age. Where did the latter view originate? And do you think the enormous lengths of each Yuga, is a symbolic way of artificially dividing eternity so our currently limited minds could more easily comprehend timelessness and unity?

As per Hinduism, kali yuga is not going to end anytime soon . At the end of kaliyuga, kalki,the 10th avatar of lord vishnu will arrive ..

I like the idea of cycles within cycles, holographically. So perhaps the Age of Aquarius is a fractal of Satya Yuga that is occurring just now within the larger Kali Yuga cycle, as a part of us are waking to those values.
