Let me explain why Indian audience is damn eager for this: In Hinduism, there are 4 Yugas (Eras). Satya Yuga (Golden Age) Treta Yuga (Silver Age) Dwapar Yuga (Copper Age) and Kali Yuga (Iron Age). The level of wickedness, badness and misery in world increases in every consecutive Yuga. As years pass, one Yug ends and another begins. Ramayan happened in Treta Yug. Mahabharat happened in Dwapar Yug. Currently we are in the Kali Yug (2024 AD). Now the interesting part, The Yugas aren't linear, they are in a circle like a clock, the end of Kali Yug would begin the Satya Yug. But as Satya Yuga is the holiest of all and Kaliyug the unholiest, the transition of these two Yugas won't be the same as the other pairs. When this happens, the Universe will face an entire wipe out and only the good souls will survive that will carry on the Satya Yuga once again. It is like a circle of life. What begins will end, and the end will bring a new beginning! There are more details of each Yuga, how they were, what were the timelines, how were the humans then, etc. Now, coming to the movie... You need to know that in these four Yugas, to maintain the balance and prove the victory of goodness vs evil (Dharma vs Adharma), Lord Vishnu, the Proprietor of the Universe incarnates in the mortal world for 10 times, called the 10 Avatars or Dashavatar. Avatar is an Indian word. [Dharma means righteousness and not religion here!]. I won't speak about all the Incarnations in detail here, but you guys must have heard about Shree Ram and Shree Krishn. They were the 7th and 8th Avatars of Lord Vishnu. Depending on necessities, He incarnated with different qualities and forms. In Treta Yug, Shree Ram established Dharma by defeating Ravan and establishing Ram Rajya, the rule of peace. In Dwapar Yug, Shree Krishn defeated Kans to protect his region, and his role in the Great Mahabharat to establish Dharm is known by you. Interestingly, till today, only 9 Avatars have been born and completed their goals. The 10th and last avatar of Lord Vishnu was prophecised to come at the end of Kali Yug to establish Dharm once again and this destruction will start the Satya Yuga once again. The name of this Avatar will be Kalki. Even the birthplace and names of parents are mentioned in the Holy books of Hinduism. This movie is based on the place, where Shambhapur will see the birth of Kalki (in the womb of Deepika). Amitabh Bachchan's character is of Ashwatthama, one of the 8 immortals of the world, who was cursed by Shree Krishn at the end of Mahabharat to be immortal and suffer. He and the other 7 Chiranjeevi (immortals) including Hanuman will pave the way for Kalki to reach his destination to defeat Kali, the demon. This movie has the backdrop of a very core subject which is close to us Indians and that's why, people will definitely appreciate it. I'll say a very interesting fact at the last: 1. It is believed that in Satya Yuga, good and evil were in different worlds, Devta (Demigods) in Devlok ans Asuras (demons) in Asurlok... 2. In Treta Yug, good and evil were in same world, Shree Ram and Ravan 3. In Dwapar Yug, good and evil were in the same family, Pandavas and Kauravas. 4. In Kali Yug, good and evil are in the same person, our own thoughts! THIS IS A VERY BIG LESSON I BELIEVE!

I don't think so bud. The characters?? Sure. They'll throw in some easter eggs here and there. I think it's based on that. Definitely. But I think it's basically a fictional, sci-fi based imagining of that tale. I don't think and don't want them to go heavy into mythology. I want them to keep this commercial enough. I think it'll be very similar in tone to the Clash Of The Titans series (if you've watched it). Based strongly on Greek mythology. But giving it a superheroic twist.

I have mad expectations for this one. There are legendary actors here and there's Amitabh Bachchan. Our grandparents grew up or lived and Amitabh was a favourite right from early 70s, he had an impact then. Here we are in 2024, I am not saying anything against anyone but that trailer is Big B being awesome.. it's hardwork and love that's kept him going. If you think you have problems just look at his career.. late 90s he was about to go broke... No one wanted to cast him, then Baghban happened, and the comeback he made is still going.. never dismiss this man. He walks on earth. The biggest superstar and legend of legends. I don't know his bank balance and I don't think it's massive but he is rich. At this age he is giving inspiration, smiles, emotions and you walk up to him; (saw him twice in person).. he's just a disciplined human.. down to the bottom, he's just an actor.. he loves people. If he is unwell whole India and I mean everyone 1.4 Billion will move heaven and earth to be of use in anyway. All those dialogues he performed, magical. Amitabh Bachchan jaisa sacha abhineta nahi hai.. Aaj toh nahi hai.. no one alive even comes close.. they all live in self built prisons.. Amitabh Bachchan lives on ground and you can see him by just showing up in front of his home. Who wants retirement life if you can have a career like this. OMG Amit uncle, at this age the angry young man has still got it... Amitabh Uncle you did everything and this is generations later, you're still an inspiration to the youngest Indians. He hurt his left hand during this movie whilst it was being recorded and still if you stand infront of his home and he is home; people everyday go there to see him; and without fail he comes out at 5 PM everyday.. And water and shade is arranged for by him.. he is in the fibre of India. What a human.

HERE IS THE EXPLANATION The movie is set in the year 2898 AD which is 6000 years after the events of Mahabharata. The city of Kashi ( also known as varanasi ) is the oldest city in the world. It is the same city from the opening scene shown in the trailer. Prabhas is playing the role of a Bounty hunter who wants to go to COMPLEX ( the most advanced & resourceful city in the universe shown in this trailer ) . The concept of god has ended in this timeline. But a ray of hope emerges with deepika giving birth to the 10th (Dashavatar ) of Lord vishnu (to be known as Kalki, hence the title of the film ). Now the people who control the complex in this timeline are afraid of the child who is in deepika’s womb (Kalki). So they set a bounty on deepika’s name ( which bujji & bhairava are trying to collect because they want to go to the complex ). This is where Ashwathama comes in to save deepika ( as she carries Kalki in her womb ). Thus We can see Peabhas facing off against Ashwathama . One more thing Ashwathama was very heartbroken and disappointed when Pandavas won the battle of Mahabharata , that is why he ended their lineage by killing all the children of Pandavas in their sleep ( actually he was trying to kill the Pandavas but in the dark night he could not differentiate between them ) . Furthermore he even fired Bramhastra on the only child of arjun & uttara who was in her womb killing her instantly. Although the child was revived later on by Krishna himself but in fury he gave a curse to Ashwathama of immortality ( to libe with wounds and puss ) , also he took away his Mani ( which had great omnipotence power ). That is why Ashwathama is trying to redeem himself by protecting the child in the womb. Hope this explains everything ❤.

Phew.. This is Worldclass, to say the least.. The Vision behind the World Building, the work put by the concept artists is Awe- Inspiring!!! Special Shout- out to the VFX artists who have elevated the level of CGI to be almost in par with Big Budget Hollywood movie.. No wonder a Visionary like Kamal Haasan Sir agreed to be part of this movie, although his role in this movie is an extended cameo and Man his aura, screenpresence, look/makeup, voice is menacing and he is going to be the highlight of this movie.. Amitabh Bachchan Sir's screen presence, voice and towering personality is a huge asset to this movie and role he plays is any actor's envy.. Deepika's role is a surprise and not what I presumed to be from the First look. How her character blends into the narrative is something m very much interested in!!! Prabhas must thank Nag Ashwin for this movie, as his career is on a downhill since Bahubhali and m sure this movie will give a fresh lease of life to his career .. Last but not the least, Nag Ashwin is done what no other Filmmaker has been able to since last 100 yrs of Indian Cinema and this movie would be a reference to all future Filmmakers in India and across the globe (except Hollywood) on how to merge mythology and Science film Elements and give a Wildly Original, Visually Stunning Sci-Fi spectacle to the Indian audience that we could be proud off for yrs to come..

btw its more than just futuristic dystopian movie, it represents the actual future according to purana's(hindu scriptures). and kalki, he is last avatar of lord vishnu to fight with the kali which is considered as pure evil entity to destroy the humankind and create new era for Rakshas(devils), and the last war coming up it had the same potential as mahabharat, purana said after that war kalki defeat the kali to establish the sat yug(the first era of humankind) the era where everything is divine and pure, so the movie makers decide to tell that story in proper futuristic way. and the role of amitabh bachchan is Ashwathama a chiranjivi who lived over 3000 years, and if you want to see the scale difference between prabhas and amitabh bachchan just pause before that wall-smashing scene. and most probably kamal hasan is going to play the role of kali, overall this movie is going to be the most record breaking movie in India for sure.

I think the VFX in this movie is great for Indian movie industry standards. For Hollywood standards, I'd say it's decent. So it would all depend on the story. If the story is good, it would be huge for Indian film industry.
