Hi Benetay thanks for the shout out. Great vid explained everything thankyou. What's your opinion on putting leaves in tanks example indian almond leaves?

I think they are great addition for the tank using indian almond leaves, we do have them around Singapore grown everywhere. The reason why we are not using it is because we have live plants like echinodorus, floaters, etc. The leaves of the plants will eventually die off which then create a natural lifecycle for the tank as well. The shrimps will then graze on the leaves as they die back. so when we have a living "indian almond plant" in the tank that creates the same feeding behavior, we will not be required to add more things into the tank. Don't get me wrong, leaves are great and certainly a choice to use them. In addition we like higher visibility in the tank where we can see the shrimps move around and not hidden under the leaves and if one of them die under the leave and isn't taken out in time, it will create a potentially chain effect. There are various reasons why we don't use them, but in general they're ok to be use.

Hi Ben You mentioned that when you went for your vacation about 2 to 3 weeks ago, I worry it leaches Ammonia fouling the water and cause shrimps death as no water change done during your vacation. How do you manage this issue as you mention in your Part 1 that breeders must know how to maintain water parameters when using Kallax balls when on vacation? Await your professional reply

Great question! Ammonia creation is the byproduct of decomposition, the key here is the lack of beneficial bacteria to convert Ammonia to Nitrate. We often look at ammonia as an "enemy" but are they truly our enemy ? i think it will be a great video to debunk some of the fears and concern. To be able to 'level up' one must know how to utilize ammonia to our advantage.
