Thank you, for such a wonderful unobstructed video of this capable machine! Most videographers want to enhance the flight experience with a musical background! Again, thank you for the entire flight, during this video, being the sounds and sights of what the pilot and passenger would truly experience! Engine parameters, rotor head and the pusher propeller sounds, enhance the experience for the ground bound audience who are curious of aviation! The natural sounds of an aircraft in flight, will entice more into the realm of aviation than the exorbitant musical tracks that play during most videos! Thanks for the great video and I'll be keeping track of Kallithea Gyros!

I think a light background music ties everything together as long as it stays on the background. I am trying to appeal to wider audience and some of them are not hard core flyers like us… 😉

With all the vibration on the cyclic stick and it's control links, is there much more frequent inspection of these control links for cracks/fatigue? Nice flying machine!

All rotorcraft are exposed to vibrations much more than your average fixed wing aircraft, that is why their components are inspected with greater scrutiny. Legally, still all you need is an Annual inspection, but there are 25, 50, 100 hour inspections checklists containing some important items to be checked.

I tried an ultralite. It was like flying a pup tent.

Ultralight airplane, or ultralight gyroplane?

That looks quite precarious I think I'll stick to my fixed wing. Is it very noisy?
@lagyro2 жыл бұрын
The annoying noise in this video comes from the generic camera microphone and I did not do anything to adjust that in post-production. Otherwise, the noise level is similar to that of any fixed wing enclosed cockpit. I use Clarity Aloft and Bose A20, Dave Clark occasionally... they all work perfectly,.. About sticking to fixed wing, well, that is why they make Strawberry and Vanilla, right... :)

For me gyros are not reliable yo fly, my mayor concern is a bird strike to the main rotor. It could bend a blade and loose balance. With a copter is different cause blades rotate faster and are stronger that the ones use in a gyro.

How many rotor bird strike accidents in gyros do you know of? I don’t know a single one… I would agree that not all gyros are reliable enough to take on a cross continent journey, but same applies for helicopters as well…

Do you fly in ground effect during takeoff for a little extra speed for climb out?
@lagyro2 жыл бұрын
Yes, staying close to the ground until the gyro reaches 55 knots, then maintain 55 knots on the climb out.

This gyroplane uses aircraft fuel (aviation kerosene) or ordinary RON95?
@lagyro2 жыл бұрын
Modern gyros usually have a Rotax engine. These engines prefer automotive fuel (91+ octane in the US), but they can also run on AvGas (100LL) with the caveat of replacing the oil every 25 hours.
