The chicken you purchased was a roaster chicken and not a fryer. The fryer chicken is usually used for rotisserie in air fryers. Also the chicken needs to be trussed properly.

I love my kalorik grill my only issue is if you you have two rotisserie whatever piece of meat that you're using it has to be from 1 to 3 lb or it will make the spit jump off of the track. I recommend always trusting the meatso you can draw it up close and that are also help the rotisserie spend correctly if you have the meat trussed tightly.

I have had a Kalorik for over a year. Crappy made (it leaks in the corners, the fake chrome on/off button peeled, the interior walls are cheap metal and hard to clean, the supplied drip tray is too heavy, meaning it takes a lot longer to come to temperature under the crisp basket...) , after months of drawn out series of emails, they finally replaced it, but I am going to sell it as new- unopened box and getting Emeril LaGasse French Door

My husband did the rotisserie chicken for the 1st time last night. It turned out awesome. He used butchers twine to hold the wings and legs in place. He usually uses lemon and onion for the inside but I didn't had any lemon so he just used seasoning inside and out. It's tricky to put the twine on (we checked KZbin videos how to :-). ) It was a 4lb chicken. We posted in on FB for friends and family to see and it looked awesome. He used temp 400 and 50 min, and 10 rest. Good idea by another comment to use foil to cover the dripping pan, I didn't.
@metaspherz3 жыл бұрын
Tonight I will rotisserie a 5.4-pound chicken. Between 5 and 6 pounds is perfect for the rotisserie spit. Any heavier and the bird gets too chubby to rotate without hitting the inside surfaces -- just like the above video. The roasting pan can take a 12-pound turkey so any size chicken will do. Just leave room for some root vegetables which roast nicely with the chicken.
@mushdc3 жыл бұрын
How and when do you add the root vegetables?

That is a potentially useful comment. I wonder whether putting the bird in the rotisserie position, BUT, baking it would improve heat circulation around the bird

I had a 5.25 lb bird on the rotisserie, put on a dry rub, and man that as good or better than any store bought rotisserie. It was literally set and forget. However, I do suggest using butcher twine and truss that bad boy up.

Guys and gals i do two to three a month you have to make sure the chicken weighs 4 pounds or less. Insert the rotisserie rod then truss chicken to the rod to center it up so it doesn't hit burners. A 4 lb chicken takes full 1 hr and 30 minutes. Then use internal thermometer to see if done some need more smaller ones use less time then check temp. Enjoy!!! i use beer can chicken spice mix or my basic dry rub bbq spices
