First Impressions of the KALORIK MAXX AIR FRYER OVEN

The Kalorik Maxx Air Fryer Oven is a beast! Not only in size but also in function! In this (relatively) short video about my first impressions, I take a look at the Kalorik Maxx Air Fryer Oven and give you an inside look at what you can expect when opening the box. The Kalorik claims to replace 8 different appliances in your house, which is a hefty order! With various functions like air fry, fast air fry, rotisserie, bacon, steak tray, dehydration, air rack, and baking tray - this machine sounds like it can do just about anything. Stick around until the end of the video where I share my initial top 3 pros and top 3 cons of owning this machine.

If you read your owners book first you wouldn’t seem so ignorant on useage such as the designated shelf functions printed on the glass doors. Annoying beeping? Really? Your issues with the French doors were laughable also. If you open them completely, which is necessary to get the trays in and out, they wouldn’t “ flop” closed on you. Also, the tool to remove and insert the racks is provided so oven mitts are not necessary.

So I bought my Kalorik about a month ago. The beeping on it doesn't bother me. I do not like the tool for removing the racks. The handles on the doors, does get hot, but since I'll be using a potholder anyway, that is not an issue. That little gap between the doors? It is there to save wear on the doors and does not interfere with cooking in any way. I have found, it is not necessary to preheat... ever! Says for toast to preheat... baloney! Put your bread in, set to toast... 5/6 minutes to not only toast, the best toast! Pizza... great for a reheat, but use the rack! Not the solid pan. Bacon comes out perfect without needing to drain. I have used the rotisserie for a tri-tip roast... came out a perfect medium rare, with a bark to die for. If I was to give any advice, it would be to forget the presets! Trial and error is the name of the game until you get used to it. It shines with pizza! I'm not talking frozen, or leftovers... I'm talking homemade, or take and bake! Less time, just Rotate 180° half way through, much like a Pizzeria does. The unit is awesome, but not a beginners unit. You have to babysit it until you get used to it.

As for the beeping, I believe that’s what you’d call a safety feature. Un-attended food, something like being distracted by your children, is one of the leading causes of house fires. I think it’d make perfect sense to eliminate the beeping for sure

Fair. But I don't know why you'd need a safety feature to spin a dial or open the oven doors? It does make conceivable sense when the food is done cooking, but definitely some sort of dial to adjust the sound would be preferable!

I'm not an expert chef - but it makes sense to me that the crack between the doors is not a design flaw, but actually allows the necessary ventilation so the air can circulate without steaming everything and making everything soggy. I mean, an air fryer is supposed to be able to make things crisp - not soggy - right?

Yeah that's what I might have thought, but no other air fryer has that crack to let steam out? Also, what would the vents on the side and top be for if not to get rid of the steam? Still working on the full review, but so far, I've just put oven mitts on and haven't really had any problems with the doors 🤷🏻‍♂️

You know, I found one, brand new, at a secondhand place for $30 bucks. I'm not sure why someone would donate this oven in brand new condition, but their loss is my gain! I've used it a bunch of times already, and it has quickly become my "go-to" cooking unit. I can see that I will be using this for the run of its life. Hopefully, that will be for a long time! Either way, it's the best $30 bucks I've ever spent. Great video! It makes me feel even better about the money I spent.

Other than the beeping, it does feel like a few issues would be resolved if the doors weren't French type! Overall sounds pretty decent... not sure if I'd have the counter space for it, but I almost think it would be worth making it work just for the rotisserie and dehydrator functionality alone! Thanks so much for this Ajay! Wouldn't mind a more thorough or "I've had this for a few months" follow ups to hear how it's been working out! I use mine every day and the only thing I have a problem with is how hot the doors get. Other then that I love it. He must have a problem with his ears I don’t even notice it on mine.

@@katherineravanello5128 you must be deaf. I open the doors and it beeps. I push buttons and it beeps. It’s done cooking and it beeps. Why won’t it STFU!?! It’s hard for me especially when I have a sleepy baby that gets awakened when I used the unit. I did not smash the unit. It broke prior to 1 year and Kaloric sent me another one. I instantly opened the unit and removed its balls, I mean beeper. All is merry now.

It works very similarly to an oven, but the rotisserie and dehydrating functions are pretty sweet. Only thing is, I lost the rod for the rotisserie 🤦🏻‍♂️ #imblamingthekids.

I don't find the beep bothersome at all. Love my Kalorik! As far as the doors, you kind of glossed over the fact that when you open the doors all the way, they stay open just fine. I like the spring loaded doors as, like my regular oven, it will close itself with a tap in the right direction. Last, the handles do get warm, but far from burn you warm. Otherwise, decent review.

Would this fit a full size chicken??? I’m really looking for something with French doors that will make a full sized rotisserie chicken. It looks too big to store in a cabinet like you said. Maybe door handles should have been made with something heat resistant or placed away from door gap. It's a nice looking unit. What are the length & depth measurements? I want to regain some counter space. Have microwave & bench oven. Really want microwave, airfryer combo with convection that has shelves. The dehydrator is added bonus, but not urgent. Still looking atm.

While I'm still working on a final review of this appliance, I have to say it's done a pretty good job doing what I wanted it to do. I love the rotisserie function! The measurements are 15.75"W x 14"H x 12.5"D. Hope you find what you're looking for!

Never, ever had any insects in mine. That would be nasty--I can't do bugs of ANY kind, inside or outside. 💡 If you are concerned, just keep a piece of tin foil in the gap when not using it. Ours has been kept on the counter forever. Live in Canada, so I guess the bug situation is different where you are located.

I really really like the loud beep in most people do however you can actually open the oven up and disconnect the beep all together it’s really simple to do the only downside to disconnecting the beep is it’s not a switch once you disconnect it the beep doesn’t beep anything you would have to reconnect it again and solder the wire back on so the suggestion that you should make it through the company is not to change The beep button to simply put an on off switch so that you can turn the beep off and then if you ever want to turn it back on you can me personally I would leave the peep on because I like it and it is important to be loud enough to let you know when things are done

Man the moment I took this air fryer out of the box I knew it was cheap. Come from using the power air fryer brand, it was decent quality. This though, it echoed from just touching it, like it’s very flimsy. I agree with the beeping. Yes all air fryers have a beep but people don’t understand how loud it is. My Apple Watch says it’s over 100 dab, aka not good for your ears. The display is so bright it emits a blue light on you even with the kitchen light on. And the buttons and knob feel like so cheap. The main thing was the French doors came very lopsided and I can’t do anything about that. So I’m returning it ASAP. Thinking about getting the ninja air fryer for the same price. Just came to this vid to see if others having issues. Also idk why people are in the comments attacking you and defending the air fryer? 😂 I don’t know anyone that loves a product so much they would go that far. Must be people that work for Kalorik lol

Appreciate it, KF! Yeah, I'm still working on the comprehensive review, but your right the drip tray is pretty stubborn to clean. Additionally, when you're roasting a somewhat big piece of meat, the capacity of the drip tray doesn't inspire confidence. That being said, I think the rotisserie function has been fantastic!!

I wonder who copied who. Kalorik 26-Quart Digital Maxx looks very identical to Emeril Lagasse air fryer 360 and both have French doors and can support 500F temp.

I have dealt with the LAISSEZ-FAIRE attitudes in many situations. I've also dealt with the same ones later. Inevitably they have most of some of their entire body parts & life. Then comes the training them to do without. If they have been gifted the generosity to have something to deal with after the laissez-faire approaches. =☆= THESE ARE NOT TOYS TO HAVE FUN WITH, though you certainly can @ times the right way. THEY ARE MACHINES TO DO A VERY SPECIFIC JOB & DO NOT CARE OR STOP for CONTRIVED CONVENIENCES. Why for appealing 4 $$$ over SAFETY 🤔 seems to make sense to you. Unfortunately I had to return my Maxx airfryer after just 6 weeks of purchase and was not used very often at home. I Was cooking a frozen pizza and it powered itself off and i,am unable to get it to power up again. Tried all i can. There is no fuse to be found. Hope others have much more success than I. The case feels micky mouse-ish. For us microwave fans, just put a wet paper towel over food for short reheat time only. Keeps stuff soft instead of that styrofoam taste!😊

If there isn't a preset for what you're cooking, I'd say just use the general air fryer function. It works similar to an oven, just don't put them in for as long 👍🏽

I feel like you were being pretty nit picky to try to find negatives. I mean it’s fine to point them out, but for every person who doesn’t like the beeping there’s someone that leaves the room and likes it louder.

I mean you can't say ONLY positives haha. You make a good point. But in all honesty, the noise is pretty disruptive (for me). Some might have different opinions, but I really don't think it's necessary. 🤷🏻‍♂️. I think a tactile click on the dial along with the lights would have been more than sufficient. I understand the beep when something is finished cooking. But beeping when opening the doors, selecting the time, selecting the heat, selecting the function - the user is right in front of the product? I dunno. To each their own, I suppose. All that being said, this thing does a killer job cooking chicken and acting as a rotisserie. So I'm keeping it haha

Sorry guy, seems like you were working to find something negative to say. The gap in the door allows for ventilation of both heat and steam. It’s ‘ bulky’ because it’s designed to hold more food. I love mine! I live in the south. I have a family of four. I no longer have to use my regular oven in the summer and deal with all the heat it produces. Have not used all its functions yet, but I’m eager to try them. The beep woke your baby? Laughable!! Nice try, buddy!

It's true, those traditional kitchen ovens are only really useful when you are making food for guests or a special event, I only use mine like 3-4 times a year, and 95% of the time I use a small oven on the counter.

I would not recommend buying this, cheaply made. It started not coming on after about 9 mouths without multiple attempts and would no longer work in just over a year. I am not ever again buying anything like this from HSN or retail. I see the newer version is digital but most likely a piece junk like this one is. 👎💰 📺
