Faux rhodochrosite using Premo polymer clay.
You don't really need much of anything special for this tutorial - clay, a few acrylic paints in very light pink hues, and some cabochon molds.
As many of you have asked about the molds. The pink one, I've had it for years and years, I remember that I got it from a mold maker on Etsy but can't remember who, and I closed my Etsy account so I can't look in past orders.
The blue molds, it's the Almond Cabochons of the Best Flexible Molds line, you can get it from here

Happy claying!

Living on disability does not allow me to always have the needed money to buy materials for tutorials. So maybe if you like my tutorials and want to see more, you may become my sponsor?
Don't forget, if you become my sponsor, you will have access to private tutorials on top of the KZbin public ones, and will be able to see what I am experimenting on
You can support me to make more tutorials by:
1. becoming my sponsor: bit.ly/2zYAR20
2. purchasing from my Amazon influencer store: www.amazon.com...
3. putting any amount of money you wish on an Amazon gift card using my Amazon wish list (link also on my website and blog - Amazon automatically lists the cards at $50 but you can put any amount you want) with no private information exchanged amzn.to/2Cw8fiT
4. Purchasing something from my online store (including tutorials). Everything is used to make more tutorials.

5. Making a one-time donation using the button on my website or my blog (look on the right side of the page)
6. Purchasing something from Poly Clay Play using the link on my website or directly my affiliate link polyclayplay.c... - I get a tiny amount of credit with the store for each of your purchases (without changing the price you pay) and that adds up and helps me buy the polymer clay I need.

I made Rhodochrosite by accident when I first started making faux stones and it's my favorite so far. Thanks for this tutorial.

Thank you so much for this wonderful tutorial! Thank you too for sharing it 'for free'! So many people now want money for sharing.

Thank you, Carol. I don't share everything for free either. I have monthly sponsors (Patreon style) that benefit from my special tutorials, and now my store is set up to start selling tutorials that have already been released for my sponsors as well. Why people think that they shouldn't pay for polymer clay tutorials boggles my mind. Some of these tutorials require sometimes weeks of works and great expense. For this technique I remember back in the day I went through about 1 lb of clay, and many days of work. For my faux pietersite tutorial, at the last count, I went through over 5 lbs of polymer clay, around $80 worth of other materials, not to count electricity cost for baking and buffing and other small incurred expenses, and that without even counting my time. Without my monthly sponsors I wouldn't be able to make all these tutorials. Even with my monthly sponsors I have to still cover some of the expenses out of my own pocket, which, believe me, living on disability, is not so large, so in order to do so I need to cut from somewhere else. Why so many aren't able to take that into account - or even if they do, it's still non-significant for me - it's beyond me. I'm sorry if that upsets you, but this is the truth. I am only able to put out so many free tutorials because I am sponsored. So someone else pays for you and others to be able to get these for free.

I wish that there was more corporate sponsorship available for you. I too am disabled, so it is difficult for me to afford to pay to view each artist's videos. If the clay makers, etc would sponsor you, it would benefit both you and them, and it would benefit your audience too. Or, if you received $ for each view from the existing sponsors ads on KZbin, that would help. This is the way broadcasting has always worked in the USA, so it should extend to internet casting as well....but I guess not. Good luck with Patreon.

Thank you Carol. They probably do, but the big names not a small artist like me. I don't monetize my channel. If there is one thing I hate the most when I watch a video is it being interrupted by ads. And unfortunately some get ads like every 3 minutes. I do not want to give that experience to my subscribers. I don't do Patreon, I have a similar system on my website. And I always try to do a good proportion "free" vs "paid, I think it's about 5 to 1 if not more, and also, make meaningful free tutorials that would help newcomers and other artists. If you didn't notice, I have posted over 250 tutorials in 10 months since I opened this channel. I myself have never purchased a tutorial. when I was younger I mostly taught myself by trial and error, before instructional materials started to get to Eastern Europe, then purchased books and watched whatever free tutorials were out there. But probably for me the advantage was that I did go through art school in my youth and was already accustomed to work with regular clay, when I started to work the polymer one back in 1990.
