These are beautiful. I love watching all your videos. So inspiring. I was wondering - Is it possible to make faux yellow topaz with polymer clay? Thank you
@KalyanaDesignTutorials4 жыл бұрын
No, not really. Polymer clay is not transparent, only translucent. You can make faux citrine and yellow calcite though.

Kalyana Design Tutorials oic, do you have a tutorial on the faux citrine and/or yellow calcite? Thank you for your quick reply too!

Kalyana Design Tutorials - thank you! I can’t watch live where I live as internet is awful. I have to wait for them to be posted and often miss things.

Anyone know of dupes for the Folk Art ‘flash’ paints that Kalyana is using here? It’s very expensive for me to import these paints, sadly. 🥴 Thank you!

The only thing I can think of is to get some chameleon powders for nail art, and mix them in water with a touch of Elmer's glue. Tell me your country (I presume it's Italy) and I'll try finding a solution for you.

I have noticed that you sometimes announce the brand of clay you use for the tutorial. Some tutorialistas have a preference. I recently ordered some PREMO! It was listed under Premo specifically. The clay I received has a large Sculpy and a little Premo underneath. I figure you could tell me ...is it just older product with old packaging? The sculpy/ Premo I’ve been using is sticky. My finished pieces are brittle and are labeled Sculpy Premo.
@KalyanaDesignTutorials4 жыл бұрын
Sculpey is a brand. Premo is a product of the Sculpey brand. So you got Premo. The one that is bad for making things with is Sculpey III. If your finished pieces are brittle that means that either you didn't condition properly or you didn't bake properly. Sticky Premo means it needs to be leached a bit. As for baking, the manufacturer's recommendations are on the package, but be careful, the time is for a certain thickness. I usually bake for at least 1 1/2 longer than recommended. I.e. for 1/4" instead of 20 minutes I bake 30 or even 45 minutes.
