It is a phenomenon that shows us that as we advance technologically there are certain parts of our brain that we do not use anymore. Such as conversions. Since the advent of Google we no longer need to remember measurement conversions for cooking or any other such easily searchable conversions (metric to standard for example). This has lead to more cognitive faculties being used for other practices and storage. Read a thing; thought it was interesting.

It's not really that Harris sounds like Dreyfus, but rather that Dreyfus did such a good job imitating politicians in general. They ALL have that generic, "let me make out my case in as long-winded a way as I can" kind of speech pattern.
