Stopping corporations from colluding to set prices that harm consumers is not a new concept. Theres laws in place for it and it has been enforced before. Republicans are hilarious. They complain, rightfully, when the cost of groceries are too high and yet blindly defend the gigantic companies that are the ones responsible for setting those high prices. The cost of groceries went up during Covid and they never came back down once the supply chains were fixed. I am a staunch supporter of the "democratic" way of looking at things on behalf of "the working class". That said, I would seriously question how Kamala Harris is going to reduce the cost of 3 million new housing units and make them "affordable"?? Being a retired construction worker and property owner, I have a few decades first hand knowledge of this industry/business. Exactly how will this new housing inventory be made "affordable"?? Housing construction already is almost entirely "crafted" by non-union tradesmen/tradeswomen so, cutting the cost by using Non-union workers is not "on the table" as a cost savings. Is there a way to reduce the cost of materials and products that together become the buildings?? Those items are not "government supplied" so ???? Is there enough government owned land in urban areas (where people need to live for employment) to offer it as a "discount" on the finished product?? There might be some benefit to be derived during the permit process but I doubt that could be enough to make units "affordable". This entire argument has been completely adopted by the general public, including politicians, but fails to "pencil out" in reality. Can anyone show us one example where additional housing built ANYWHERE has resulted in any reduction of housing prices in those same places ??? Of course, there is builder/developer profit/property taxes !! Are we going to somehow "limit" those to ???? % of the actual cost???? The only alternative for the "affordability" of housing issue is to return the wages, adjusted for inflation, to a time and value when housing was "MORE" AFFORDABLE. One thing we all need to remember and realize is that housing NEVER was EASY to satisfy !!! When the people of America work and are paid well, they can put the money back into America. This will help our economy to grow stronger. I’m not a middle class anymore, but a retired middle class with a social security and pension that is less than $25,000 a year, although I’ve been retired for 10 years. There needs to be a fairness in how we treat all people. I use to make over $36,000 a year, but taxes took most of that. Now Medicare keeps increasing the cost of the Hospital Part A every time the cost of living increases and I still can’t get anywhere; however I do own a home now through the Housing Authority Program and it gives me peace of mind, since I no longer have to move from place to place. I’m thankful for the First Time Home Buyers down payment program! I’m looking forward to the other plans that will be put in place to help all Americans and to stop inequity: stealing of moneys by companies that pay one person doing the same job less pay and another person more. There also needs to be a check of Medicare, Social Security and Insurance companies that steal from Americans the same way!❤Vote!

@@Zennitube what? Have you looked at the label on anything you have bought lately? Even “made in America” products such as cars and such use parts made overseas. But sure things just aren’t expensive enough. How would his additional deficit exploding tax cuts for the rich, and him sending our economy in depression affect you? But sure why not believe a man who has bankrupted nearly every business he has owned, knows how to run our economy? Why not trust the man who lied to and betrayed all three of his wives? Surely he would never lie to or betray you. Especially when losing means he will held accountable for his crimes and tried by a jury. Why not trust what such a man says when that man sees his winning as a get out of jail free card?

@@Zennitube through out human history the people who would win power by using “hate and fear your neighbor” politics and or prostitutes the name of God, have never been the good guys! NEVER! How would our nation clinging to outdated technology as the rest of the world moves on affect you? How would our nation have done if we had decided to stick with horse and buggies, while the rest of the world moved on to the internal combustion engine? Apply that logic to our current situation. We don’t have to burn stuff to make energy anymore. Even if saving our species from extinction isn’t enough to motivate politicians, the idea of our corporations no longer being competitive is usually something they care about.
