Dear Dr. Priya, I would like to clarify on Tamil King Ravanan. Is Seetha King Ravanan's daughter? Samana Ramayanam tells that if King Ravanan's daughter Seetha lives with him, it's utmost danger for his kingdom "ilangaapuri" (today's ilangai) so, he let king Thasarathan brought up his daughter (but he's closely watching her well being). Once Seetha married to Raman (குறுநில மன்னர்)and eventually went to forest, was the point makes king Ravanan worry for his daughter's safety thus sent his sister to look a eye on her. But ilakkuvanan got mixed up and he thought she's after Raman. Confronted her and accidentally injured her nose. This makes King Ravanan agitate and bring his daughter back to ilangai. Kept her in a beautiful flowery garden, not telling her that he's her actual father. If he tell, that will be a cursed his country so that King Ravanan kept quite about it. Seetha was missing Raman & King Ravanan not letting his daughter go to forest makes the "War" situation. Raman get help from a another Tamil king (குறுநில மன்னர்) அனுமன் Anuman and went against King Ravanan. Eventually King Ravanan purposely fall for his country and kept the "father daughter" secret a secret, to his death. We should praise King Ravanan for his selfless contribution to the Tamil country, community, Tamil language & literature, medicine, many more excellence (ஆயக்கலைகள் 64 கும் முறையில் கற்ற பேரரசர்). However Sanskrit Ramayanam tells the opposite, to degrade the Tamil Emperor and his contributions to the Tamil world. Why is that so, is the Sanskrit writers understand the Tamil ethigasam wrong or is it purposely writes that manner? Tamil people must question, every touch points has been amended to degrade the Ancient Tamil Civilization.
