With so many horror stories and myths floating around about Kambo, it’s important to understand how Kambo truly works.
In this episode, I’m joined by my friend and mentor, Jason Fellows and we dive into a conversation that will illuminate the truth about Kambo. Tune in and learn about the biological and chemical makeup of Kambo, how it truly works once it’s administered, why the purge has nothing to do with Kambo’s real magic, what health issues it can support you with and why, and we shed light on the most common myths and red flags when it comes to Kambo use and Kambo practitioners.
Jason, a native of Texas, spent six years in the U.S. military, followed by 12 years working in the oil fields all over the world. In 2015, during his travels and explorations, he found himself in the Amazon jungles of Peru, exploring some traditions of native cultures. Over the course of the next year, Jason explored deeper into these traditions and eventually found Kambo in the jungle about 200 Kilometers outside of Iquitos. He soon began to notice his own healing of anxiety through Kambo.
At this point, Jason decided to focus on a life of service to others through the facilitation of Kambo. After a year of working with Kambo on his own, he attended an intense training program to learn to facilitate for others in need of Kambo. Jason developed his own methodology in working with Kambo, from working with thousands of clients from all walks of life, ranging from professional athletes, soldiers, chiropractors, lawyers, and musicians, to your typical 65-year-old grandmother battling depression.
Witnessing the Kambo movement explode in recent years and seeing "facilitators" of Kambo come onto the scene practicing Kambo in non-traditional ways in a pseudoscientific approach, Jason made the decision to develop his own Kambo practitioner training course, Tribal Detox. The Tribal Detox training focuses on safety and the known science of Kambo with the goal of producing confident and competent practitioners that continue to facilitate this beautiful experience for people in need, while keeping the client and practitioner safe above all else and keeping Kambo in a positive light.

This video is a must watch for anyone thinking of doing Kambo. I did Kambo today. I was only asked to drink 32 oz of water. It has been eight hours and I still feel tired. I was looking forward to the energy boost I hear about. Maybe tomorrow.
@iamruby

Energy often fluctuates after a Kambo session. Remember... your body is going through a massive recalibration. In a single kambo session, you are receiving an influx of bioactive peptdies and neuropeptides. It can take time to recalibrate. It's also important to keep in mind that Kambo is not a magic button. The best way to work with kambo is with a protocol (it may take a few sessions) and by also shifting your wellness routine outside of a kambo session.

Thank u for this What about the facial swelling? Can that turn into a full blown anaphylactic reaction? Is it dangerous?
@iamruby
@iamruby 4 ай бұрын
The facial swelling that can occur with Kambo is not due to an allergy-allergies to Kambo are quite rare and well trained practitioners will know how to spot this. You can lessen the chances of swelling by keeping your head up and not down in the bucket. I always tell my clients to bring the bucket to them vs leaning down into the bucket.

So long as it obtained ethically and treated with respect, it will do wonders for people. It already has. Tying the frog up and scaling its back it’s not the way other people ( practitioners) ethically obtain it. Let’s show this incredible species some respect. It’s become so big now that people Are going into these frogs habitats and brutally collecting this medicine.

I felt its efects but came to the realization that i dint know this shaman and got scared and woke up. But the dream was so real and felt like real life . I guess you could say it was a lucid dream cus i knew i was dreaming . But the sense of fear keep me from proceeding. None the less 2 days later i found your vedio in my feed. I've done Kambo multiple times. I've also managed to get benefits from practitioners that didn't learn how to administer the medicine properly. I'm so grateful for this talk. I now truly know how it works to some extent, but also that I need more training on how to work with this for myself. Can you do one on iboga? It would be extremely valuable if you recorded a series of talks where these medicines are demystified and de"woowoo-ed".

This is an amazing podcast!! I learned so much about Kambo. I had my first Kambo session on Sept 7th, I have never done any sacred medicine before and it was a good experience BUT, after my session I left feeling like I did something wrong because I didn't had the purge/vomiting I was expecting. I saw a lot of videos here on KZbin and every one of them says the importance of the purging in order to release whatever you need to release blah blah blah. So even though my facilitator re-assured me that I did awesome, that puking was not necessary has to happen, that I purge in other ways etc., I still felt like I did something wrong. Someone recommended me this podcast and I'm glad he did!!!! Not only I learned a lot about Kambo, but also helped me to understand what I was feeling and be more ready for my next session which was yesterday. I found Kambo doing my research on Ayahuasca. I felt the calling for Ayahuasca but even though I felt like I was ready I also felt that something was missing, like I needed to do something first and I found Kambo. I read about BUFO, Psilocybin, Cacao and others but Kambo was the one who was calling me. I did my second session yesterday it was different from the first one and I'm still trying to adapt and will have my third session next Tuesday the 19th and my Ayahuasca ceremony the 22nd. I just watched your episode "Ayahuasca in the Depths of the Amazon Jungle". I want to read a good book before my ceremony and I would like recommendations. Thank you!
@iamruby
@iamruby Жыл бұрын
Glenda, thank you so much for sharing your experience! Your ceremony was perfect. The purge is NOT part of Kambô’s peptide magic-it’s simply the body’s response to Kambô. Receiving the peptides is what matters. As soon as the dots are on, the peptides go to work. Not everyone purges, and every ceremony will be different. Wishing you many blessings for your next Kambô ceremony and your Aya ceremony! I am excited for you. I highly recommend the book “When Plants Dream”.

Happy to hear that your sessions went well! Drinking 1-2 L of water in a session is good. Things can get dangerous when people are told or forced to drink more--some are even encouraged to drink a gallon or more. This can lead to hyponatremia in the system which is the biggest culprit for injuries related to kambo. Hyponatremia happens when there is too much water in the system and the concentration of sodium in your blood is really low. This is incredibly dangerous for your organs and your brain. A well-trained practitioner knows how to monitor water intake and balance that out with the purge. We stick with a lower intake of water to help prevent hyponatremia. At the end of the day, you get to work with the practitioners that feel most aligned for you.

I really want to taper down on those meds but i just cant do it because the way i'm feeling right now. So is there someone who has used Kambo with the medication that i'm using? But I've eaten a very clean diet for the last 4 years, live in nature, ground every day, don't smoke or drink and meditate regularly. I’m sorry that you had such a bad experience. It honestly sounds like you may have had a herx response which can happen with people who either have autoimmune, mold toxicity, or Lyme disease. Your practitioner should have spoken to you about this possibility. A herx reaction is the dying off of bacteria which can create inflammation, lethargy, rashes, and exhaustion after a session. The symptoms do go down after 1-5 days.

Are there any studies on kambo and herpes virus?
@iamruby
@iamruby 10 ай бұрын
There isn't a specific study on Kambo and the herpes virus, however I will share this... Kambo is a cocktail of bioactive and neuro peptides. One form of these peptides is Dermaseptin. These peptides are part of a broad spectrum of antimicrobial peptides involved in the frog’s defense against microbial invasion. These are the first vertebrate peptides that show lethal effects against filamentous fungi responsible for severe opportunistic infections that accompany immunodeficiency syndrome and the use of immunosuppressive agents. They also show lethal effects against a broad spectrum of bacteria, fungi, yeasts, and protozoa. Several years of research carried out at the University of Paris have shown that peptides Dermaseptin B2 and B3 are effective in killing certain types of cancer cells. A researcher at Queens University in Belfast won a prestigious award for his ground-breaking work with cancer and Kambo. Its action mechanism is produced by inhibiting the angiogenesis of tumor cells with selective cytotoxicity for these cells.

Of course! The peptides are what make Kambô so special! The peptides found in Kambo have been studied in labs since Peter Gorman brought Kambo back to the US in the 80’s. Every single peptide in Kambô offers its own healing properties. If you’re interested in reading more about the peptides, I’ve listed them all here on my webpage: www.rubyfremon.com/kambo And Jason just recently published a book on Kambo where he goes in more depth about the peptides!
