I am glad I was aable to mute the distracting music. Is there any scientific basis for these tests? Did you test different varieties of pure honey? Did you analyse the fake honey to find out what was really in it?
@therealkakkamakkara Жыл бұрын
no discernable difference. congrats you got either pure honey in both jars, or none.

Same unfortunately, the difference in colors doesn't help.

This video is pure BS, should be reported it for being fake news. The burning test is not a proof of authenticity. Remove the toothpick, settle in on a hard, non-flammable surface like a stone or metal chopping board, I guarantee you'll see the same boiling (not burning) action for both. Other videos also show air bubble test, viscosity test, and these are all useless. Different species of bees, different harvesting and storage conditions will all affect how thick honey is. Watery honey can become thick when it loses moisture, thick honey can become watery if improperly stored before use.

Thanks. Good demo. I remember from living in Poland in 60' a pencil test. All you need to do is spread the honey drops on the skin using a soft "B" or copy pencil - if the honey becomes colored, we can be 100% sure that it is not real. Basically we are talking about added sugar into honey.

This test is not reliable,because when i harvested the honey uesterday and try this test, it was all opposite .i think depending on the weather when it is harvested, during wet season is expecting to have more moisture
@HaNa-zg9bw7 ай бұрын
I tried several of the tests. They worked great, especially the toothpick burn test. The jar of honey I suspected to be impure definitely was. But be careful... the boiling honey dripped from the toothpick to the hand that was holding the lighter 😵🥴 Try not to make the same mistake. Thanks for the info though! Next time I will be more careful .

Depends if the beekeeper supplemented his bees with sugar water. 90% do that. Does it make it fake honey? It was made by bees, right?

You used the lighter color one for the fake honey. It is difficult to detect any significant differences because of it

You can also just check the ingredients label. It will say high fructose corn syrup if fake honey. Also buy from a local bee keeper and not the store.

It depends on where you live. I used to get both my honey and my olive oil from my uncle in the village (yes Mediterranean girl here) my whole life. But my uncle passed away and while I was looking for another good source of pure ingredients, I had to get some store bought one. Now with olive oil I can tell by tasting it raw. But with honey I'm so confused. The label only says "locally harvester" does not have any ingredient list so I'd assume it implies it's pure but I do not trust the supermarkets 😂 which is what brought me to this video. Also due to having multiple varieties in the area, from pine tree honey, to orange blossom and some type of honey (which idk how to translate in English) and is always crystallized and a bit bitter initially, that literally vary from light orange colour and kinda thin to dark almost black etc I can't tell by looking or tasting it. It's so annoying because I have insulin resistance and I have completely quit sugar so paying for honey and having sugar sneaked into my system would be horrible.

Depending on the type of flower that the nectar is collected, the honey can come in different sweetness levels. Plus. what about the presence of added water? Can it be detected by taste only?
