Really impressive quality footage from 1986. The attention to detail in order to keep 2023 footage at the exact pace of the old footage is spectacular. Very cool to see how the area changed so much in what is really not too much time. Well done!

It's quite interesting to see how although most of the buildings have been rebuilt or are no longer identical, the general atmosphere/vibe of the city remains the same. Perhaps it's because Tokyo was already so developed, you don't really see an significant change in the urban development.

im not impressed with 2023 cameras light adjustment, the camera from 1986 was much better in that aspect... incredible what modern technology can not do (edit: yes what the person who made this did is fantastic. im just annoyed that cameras have decreased in quality in all aspects except resolution)
Such an awesome video and I love the concept of side-by-side synchronized videos! I tried identifying the most interesting cars I could find in this video. 1986: brand new Toyota Corolla FX16 0:45 1986: beige Mitsubishi Galant Sigma 1:41 1986: white Toyota Crown hardtop S120 1:55 1986: Toyota Sprinter sedan E70 2:59 2023: Porsche 911 (991) 3:50 1986: Lancia Thema with youth driver mark 4:31 1986: Nissan Sunny GX-R hatchback 6:32 2023: white Porsche 911 (997) 6:41 1986: Honda City cabriolet 7:23 1986: Honda Civic AH 9:02 1986: Honda City (non-turbo) 9:41 1986: Nissan Laurel C31 hardtop 11:32 1986: Nissan March Turbo K10 11:46 1986: Toyota Carina hardtop coupé A40 11:55 1986: Toyota Corolla sedan E70 12:39 Is there a way to add these to the video somehow? Maybe in the subtitles?

I have created a map with the approximate points where the cars can be found: www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=1LjRNIcyXlLI-kpNmZYqDH_fjUBurhwM&usp=sharing

Thanks for watching. Since this video has been watching many viewers not only car fans, and from many different perspectives, I don't dear to add the car name subtitles, sorry.

@@kamepo Thank you very much for your reply! I fully understand you would not add them for that reason and I agree it would be too much focussed on cars. I'm looking forward to your next video! 👍

One thing I noticed is there were way more sedans in 86.

I first came to Japan in 1986 and the number of new buildings has always amazed me. It's also nice to see how much better the road markings are, clearer bilingual signs for example Takebashi Junction @10:00 and more sound protection around the highway. A bit nostalgic seeing the World Trade Center building standing all by itself @3:00 knowing it is now gone.

Road signs have advanced far and road paving technology has improved. The only thing that has not changed is the shape of the road itself.

Why is the world trade center gone?
@kamepo Жыл бұрын
@@aufar0 Due to the aging facilities in the building and the expansion of commercial space. Currently the new WTC building south wing is already completed and other WTC buildings are under construction.
It's interesting how basically all the visible buildings there in 1986 are still there, but every possible gap between them has been filled in with more buildings.
