This is great info.. I also encourage ladies considering any type of grad school to INVEST in a prep course. It’s worth it to spend $1500-$3k on a prep course. The LSAT/GMAT /MCAT doesn’t determine if you’re going to be successful, its just a way to weed people out of schools. Learn how to take the test, crush it your exam and get into the school of YOUR choice.

I had taken the LSAT 5 times so far. My first one I cancelled, the 2nd one I ended up with a 138, my 3rd one I got a 139, my 4th one was 138, and my last one was 136. I invested into Kaplan and into private tutors, but still no change in score. I studied from the day from my last LSAT to the night before the next administered LSAT, but still no change. The law schools that I applied for kept telling me that the reason why they keep rejecting me is because of my low LSAT, and I told them that I was trying my hardest in order to increase the score, but still no mercy. I feel like giving up, but not yet. I invested so much money and time into this. One director at a law school told me,"It's not that Law School will be a never for you, it''s just not your time."

I am so sorry to hear your struggle with the LSAT. It is a difficult test and you should not feel any less than amazing regardless of a standardized test score. My suggestion is to take a mental break. Really break. Then reevaluate what you're struggling with as far as the test goes. Do you get nervous the day of? Are you running out of time during the test? Would the GMAT be a better fit if the law school you're applying to accepts that? etc. YOU GOT THIS. Plus, some schools do accept many different ranges of scores. Don't give up if law school is your passion and purpose.

I was considering law school years ago, and I got a book from the library to study/practice. I studied for about 3 weeks, took the test, and got a 155. I wasn't looking at any schools in particular at the time. What deterred me was because my mama was telling me that a co-worker of hers said I wasn't serious if I only studied 3 weeks. I had just thought of the idea because I hated my job and figured I needed something else in life. But my mama's disappointment from listening to that co-worker kept me from really trying because he may have been right.

Thanks so much for your encouragement. I was going to take a gap year after I graduated from college in 2011 and ended up taking 8 years lol. But during those years, i wasn’t sure if law school is for me so I decided to work for a little bit so I ended up working in 2 law firms, enrolled in a paralegal program for a year and then I just felt law school is what I should do so I’m looking forward to studying for the LSAT and see what happens. Thanks again Kameron. I always thought getting a high lsat score determines if I’ll get into law school or not. Thanks for the encouragement 😊

I live in Canada. Attempted the LSAT out of curiosity. French law programs here do not require an LSAT score for admission. Got a diagnostic score of 135 and thought I was retarded ... but ended up graduating law school last year with a 3.5 gpa. Granted it is not exceptional but it is still very good. Based solely on my experience the correlation btw LSAT and law school success is tenuous at best.

I haven’t been able to devote time to studying for it so if anyone has any advice I’d appreciate it. I have had the books for months now and haven’t gotten past the first chapter. And it’s always funny to hear almost all of the KZbinrs I watch talk about how they want to come to NYC and I’m from there (and writing this on the subway right now) and I want to go to California. I hate to bring this up, but I got a 151 on the LSAT and my GPA was a 3.0. The only reason why I got into law school was because I was black and did a whole bunch of extracurricular activities. Years later, I passed the bar exam on my third attempt and am admitted in NY and NJ. My advice is to get a private tutor. I was in a LSAT prep class that only marginally increased my score from the practice exams. I KNOW that I would have done better had I had one-on-one tutoring. The LSAT isn't about how smart you are. It's about how logical you are.

Thankfully my undergrad gpa is 3.8 🙏🏾 so we’ll see. *fingers crossed**

@@Nat0528 The law school that I went to has a program for minorities with high GPAs and low LSAT scores. In the program, the students get test prep from the school and retake the LSAT. If they get at least a 150 then they'll be admitted. It's a long process, but worth it if you really want to be a lawyer. www.law.cuny.edu/academics/pipeline/

Leonard Wilson thank you so much again once more, CUNY is actually the law school I’m aiming for! The yearly price and given that they are public interest focused! I was drawn to it! I also heard of the pipeline program, and will definitely look into it pending my lsat score. At this point, I'm prepared to take the LSAT again as I know that I can ace this test. I'm at a loss that some people can actually complete all the logic games with the multiple inferences and combinations required and get them correct in 35 minutes. That's just not my skill set at all. Why is the LSAT so damn hard?

My advice on personal statements is to keep editing it, reading it out loud and having other people review and edit it.
