Awesome video Thanks for all the details about the module. I’m fixing to order one due to purchasing a camper and using a 16ft tandem axle enclosed trailer on the weekends when I deliver inflatables!

Campers are cool, I want to at least rent one to enjoy sometime, and delivering inflatables sounds like a neat gig. I still use mine, just did this weekend and it’s been a great purchase 👍🏻

@@KameTrick yes luckily I believe I got a steal on my camper. Only paid $20,000 and it’s a 2020 model. Fully furnished and ready to start camping. Finishing all the paperwork up tomorrow and taking possession tomorrow afternoon and then the camping adventures start

With the plug and play option, does your vehicle have to have a 7 way plug from the factory? My dodge ram Dakota only has a 4 way plug.

I wish I could help but I don’t happen to know. If you have no desire to make your own wiring harness and want to go this route, the best call is probably to call tekonsha’s sales number and ask. I’m *certain* that’s a question they get all the time. Sorry I can’t be more help but I don’t want to give you bad info 👋🏻

Thanks KT for the video. It is appreciated! Did you also have to populate the 2 fuse sockets meant for trailer brake and trailer power? I have a 2004 Chevy Suburban Z71 and my 2 sockets are not populated. So I'm assuming I will just have to add the fuses and was wondering if you did same.

I had the tow package on my truck so it was plug and play for me…good luck with the wiring, hopefully it’s an easy job!

So you never mentioned if your truck had an existing plug in trailer harness at the rear bumper hitch area. I take it you have a connector back there. Mine only has a flat 4 pin connector….not sure if I would need a 7 pin.
@KameTrick2 жыл бұрын
I didn’t think to mention that, my bad. My truck has a factory tow package and has the circular 7 pin connector. I did a quick search and it looks like 4 pin connectors don’t have enough circuits or the right wire gauge to power trailer brakes…for more details check out: www.etrailer.com/question-415564.html

You would have to add a 7 pin for the brakes. It’s not overly complicated.

@@seabass22you have to run wires from the connector to the battery, right?

Hey quick question. Does any car have that connection for the trailer under the dash?
@KameTrick Жыл бұрын
Not all cars do, it seems to depend on the age of the vehicle and in some cases whether or not is has a tow package. If the tailgate area has a trailer wiring hookup from the factory, I’d say it’s more likely that there will be a brake controller plug under the dash, but you’ll want to double check on a per-vehicle basis to be sure.

Do you guys know if that works on Freightliner Fld 120 with my gooseneck trailer
@KameTrick2 жыл бұрын
I believe it will do the trick, you might have to wire it up yourself or see if Tekonsha makes a plug and play harness for it, though. www.etrailer.com/question-224811.html
